Since installing my Kingston SSD, my MBP finds its self in a position of being unable to boot every so often, usually following a crash whilst going to or waking up from sleep.

It was happening a lot, until I did a full install instead of restoring from time machine last time, where it was fine for ages, until;

I reached the end of my tether with it last night when I went to open terminal and it just froze with the 'loading' cursor. I was forced to do a hard "shutdown", from which it will not boot again, I just get the grey screen with the little loading circle.

I have a strange feeling that I've seen it mentioned that SSDs and sleep don't go together very well, is this the issue here? As it is never shut down and almost always put to sleep by closing the lid. Is there any truth to my vague recollection, if so, is there a remedy?

Thanks in advance :)

Sounds like a defective drive. Using Sleep won't cause any problems, been using the Sleep feature on my SSD Macbook Air all the time, without any issues.

PRAM reset?

I initially had problems with the original OCZ Vertex but after switching off the powerdown when idle solved it. Many flashes later it's fine regardless.

Well, I chucked in the install disk and tried to repair - Disk Utility gave up and told me to backup what I can and re-install.

I'll try disabling the powerdown when idle.

I know the OCZ vertex 2 had problems waking from sleep but it was more or less fixed with a firmware update (still get some weird sleep behavior every now and then)

This is on windows 7 btw.
