God damn this car loaning ruins the game I'm sorry but why bother playing if you have to borrow other peoples cars for competitions why not earn them or buy them yourself.
Totally pointless feature IMO and anyone who's car goes missing deserves it for being so carp or tight fisted

How does it ruin the game?
Whilst I agree that you should really buy the cars yourself, I've borrowed two just to save time waiting for them to pop up by chance in used cars.
But people doing so has no effect on your enjoyment of the game.
Yes, as far as I'm aware you get it after spending 250k on garage wide upgrades, it isn't a single car or anything.

But its only 500 BHP
Its supposed to be on a Le Mans Prototype chassis, and I'd have hoped for more than that 
I think the days of the 1000BHP Skyline GT-R's and so on are gone
Did 400k's worth of upgrades on a 100k Viper, didn't get the trophy.

I thought it was for spending loads on a random car, a Wagon RR, pick up or similar. Thats when I got mine
Not sure, you might be right there, but then a lot of the details for the trophies are still unknown. Could be like spending 10x the value of the car.

Can't remember when I got mine, but it was a while ago. Also about the multi millionaire trophy, I read on a Sony message board that it was 20,000,000 that you needed to unlock the trophy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, It's rarely useful cars though, just bought the Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (S.Shigeno Version)
Who could resist a 52k Hachiroku, especially one 'owned' by the creator of Initial D, pity it doesn't have Fujiwara Tofu Shop down the side tbh
Quite nice though, 207bhp/825kg stock, although not sure what/if any mods it can accept being a 'special' version...
Want! Got me a standard Hachi that I've been messing about with, so much fun
