Who Are Your Favourite Stand-Ups?

The two best live ones i've seen have been Lee Evans and Tim Vine - neither of which I thought I would like. Lee Evans annoys me on TV.

Just a quick question to posters - are you basing this on TV or live performances?

Reg d hunter gave a warning to people who came to see him based on his TV work "TV work is money, live is art"

Jimmy Carr is excellent live. Bit of reliance on paedo jokes but that seems to be the way stand-up leans at the moment.

I could reel off a few names from the London circuit but they're mostly unknowns.

Dara O'Briain - Brilliantly funny with his stand up stuff.
Michael McIntyre - agree with the above, he can be funny without being offensive or vulgar.
Lee Evans - Always makes me laugh, the same as McIntyre, can be funny without being overly offensive, and has some great energy in his routines. (The man must go through allot of suits :p).
Russell Howard - Seems to be able to make fun of the stupid little things in life easily, makes me laugh.

sean lock
rhod gilbert
eddie izzard
dylan moran
dara o'briaiaian
reginald d hunter

quite like jason manford too but only in small doses. a little too much 'peter kay' from him

Stewart Lee! If you ever watched Fist of Fun, This Morning With Richard Not Judy (TMWRNJ!), or any of Steward Lee's DVD's (or even live!) you'll agree :)

Russell Brand
Michael McIntyre
Kevin Bridges
Frankie Boyle - seen him on Monday night there :D

Russell Kane has been brilliant on I'm A Celebrity aftershow. Main show is garbage but ITV2 aftershow is a banterfest! :D (and Caroline Flack is awesome!)

Aside from the ones mentioned, I'll say Stephen K. Amos

Watch that whole clip and don't laugh ;)

Michael McIntyre - Seen him live. Awesome!
Ross Noble - Seen him live. Awesome!
Lee Evans - Going to see him live next September. Never fails to make me laugh on TV
Russell Peters - Very good, but tends to wait for the laugh after each joke he cracks.

Jimmy Carr is brilliant.
Bill Bailey in his prime.
and I quite like Tim Minchin.

Eddie Izzard's always been good, and Dara O'Briains DVDs have been decent.
