Read my second post where i clearly say 6870 is better for xfire,i made a simple mistake, have you anything to contribute for the OP,if not shut up.

Then edit you nonsense post's further down.

The OP is clearly lacking GFX knowledge and needs all the help he can.

You posting Guff further down is not helping anyone.

It seems to me that you don't really have a clue at all yourself. And just copy what others say.

Why post that in the first place? You're a walking contradiction and don't tell me to shutup when all you do is post guff.

Nah i have no clue at all, unlike yourself who has clearly helped the OP with your recommendations.

...seems I created chaos...sorry

No

I just can't stand people offering the wrong advice.

You could get a 6870 and get another down the line if your mobo supports it and have a faster gaming rig than someone with a GTX 580 for less money.

If you want crossfire in the future, then get the 5870.

This for example is just plain wrong

The gigabyte 470 soc is a very good card, decent factory overclock, lower power usage and an excellent cooler. Should oc a lot further than a reference cooled 470. However, if you do fancy going xfire at sometime in the future, a 5870/6870 would be a better choice, wont comment on the clocking ability of those as ive never owned/used one.:)

ok, is that card on offer reliable though? it is OCuk value...

Yep, it's a good time to hold out, what with the new 6900's and the nv570, i only opted for the gtx 470's as they were so cheap, (and im a tight git).:D

Yep, the two cards ended up costing £259.00 ono, sold my gtx 275's for £135.00 and one of the mafia 2 vouchers for £10.00, kept one but now wish id sold it too tbh. The 470's cost £214.00 and £189.00 ono, (2nd card bought on TWO).

i bought the 6870 a couple of weeks ago

not wanting or waiting for the 69xx reason being it will be more expensive and prob a much bigger card than the 6870

i can "just" fit the 6870 in my case, any bigger is a no go
i like how the power connector is at the side
the 5870 would be more difficult to fit in my case

good card the 6870
