Recommend me antivirus

My Norton Internet Security antivirus subscription about to expire the renewal is £39.99 direct through Norton.

Whats the difference with Internet Security and 360?

I had 2007 version of this on my old laptop it was slow reasource hungry but i can appreciate how quickly software updates is it any good now?

The other antivirus programs listed here to be honest I never heard off are they any good?

People pay for AV? Unless you are a business there's no point.

I think it is fair to say that NIS has improved since 2007.

I use MSE. I think if you're going to use a free one you should get a free one that's specific for spyware, such as Threatfire, Spybot - Search and Destroy, etc as well.

I use MSE myself too, it's a great free one.
I don't think any paid virus programme is worth the money, honestly. I've never seen anything that offered any better protection than the Free versions.

on this pc i use Microsoft Security Essentials and never have had a problem and i also use nod32 on laptop for when i was at uni both are good but nod32 u have to pay for but not for the MSE

If you're paying: Kaspersky or NOD32

If you want a free one: Avast or MSE

For spyware: Malwarebytes <- get this regardless

MSE is a recent discovery for me, and it's now on all 3 PC's I use or am responsible for. Replacing AVG free and my old allegiance to Kaspersky.

MSE does the job, probably, or at least it should, given it's in M$'s

interest to make sure it does. It's also free, which is most important.

Microsoft Security Essentials-
uses little memory
is reliable
finds viruses very well
made by the same company is the operating system so they must have some know how
