It amuses me why people I know think I know everything about "techy" stuff and always ask me for help on anything from computers to air-con controls when, in reality, all I do is press buttons and mess around till something works

I pressed the big one prior to the thread, but change and program were left untouched
I'm trying my hardest!
My missus had to park her car in the co op car park last night as she couldn't get it up the hill....phone call this morning from the police saying that it was blocking the co op entrance, turns out it had slipped off the embankment it was on and gone about 20metres until it was blocking the entrance. Lucky it didn't go a bit further else it'd of been in the road! Definitely need the sun back on asap!

Have you worked out what they are yet?
If they are not for the boiler they are probably electric immersion heater controls for your hot water cylinder. Have a look round the tank and see if any are fitted.

Well we've worked out what they are, but not quite what they do. Having them on or off appears to have made no difference. On the plus side though the hot waters working this morning which must have meant the pipes were just completely frozen last night
You should bump up the volts your immersions. You're on water so pushing +20 to 30V should be easyI can make the numbers get bigger, does that count?

Seems to be a "deadmans switch" for the Russian nukes developed in the Cold war period, it was a defencive measure should the CIA apprehend Russian Nuclear physicists.
