If I ever changed my facebook photo it would be to that.:D

What is going on today? How does this raise awareness of violence towards children?

Well the question itself is flawed.

To begin to answer this, we must first take a look at what "raise awareness" means, and what it is suppose to mean.

I am aware of everything.. therefore raising awareness is silly.. i might aswell go around telling people drinking alcohol gets them drunk.

You object that it doesn't raise enough awareness, i say its a silly point anyway, and therefore, you are more wrong than what you are complaining about.

i wasn't up for it at all... then i got drunk and wanted the ultimate 80's cartoon character. so i put this up:

tis the most awesome fella to come out of the 80's!

internet cookie for naming the character and tv show ;)

also, if you can name the r2d2 rip off in the show, i will gladly send you some cheese.

(probably not)

We look back with rose tinted glasses. But we realise now that these cartoons where nothing more than 15 or 20 minute advertising slots for toy lines. Kids TV today still is. It's just the variety and quality of the 'toons was much better. 80s TV seemed to cater more to boys as well, whereas modern kids programming has become a lot less gender specific.

Example: Transformers cartoon was made to sell Transformers toys. BraveStarr toys existed before the cartoon. And the other one I have a bunch of still stuck in the attic somewhere is Mighty Max (and there was Polly Pocket for girls, but I can't remember there being a cartoon franchise based on that, though there probably was).

Mask - Matt Trakker and that would be T-Bob

I don't see what's wrong with creating awareness for a cause

If this whole thing has made even just some people click on the FB page, leade by the thing that everyone is changing their picture, and from there gone to any of the sites and donated, or done whatever, then what's the problem..

The problem is that most people will just change their FB status and feel that they've done their bit for NSPCC or protecting children. If everyone who changed their picture also donated some cash or time to a charity, then that would be awesome and no one would be moaning.

It's the sheep who think that by just changing their pic/status, they're doing something to help, that annoys me and others.
