I would still say spreading the word about the whole thing is helping, even if it's just to follow the bandwagon. Actually it's taking advantage of the stupid sheep since because of them they get free advertising to reach the people who do care. I'm sure Livestrong didn't mind the massive trend they had, got them known in the end!

And there are people in this thread who don't see the point of it at all to begin with because awareness won't stop violence towards children or help them etc. I understand why people think those who would be smug about helping others are annoying, I don't think much of them either. But not really much you can do about that and as I said, if it reaches a few that does care out of many then that's great :)

I don't think it's going to do anything in the fight against child cruelty. But I changed mine because I thought it was a bit of fun.

It read 'could u please change yr profile pic back.apparently this cartoon thing has been set up by paedos usin registered charities name 2 entice kids,and the more folk that put up cartoon pics makes it harder 4 police to catch these sickos!! :@ pls re...-post to your friends ....'

I also got the one that razerbwfc posted. Ridiculous. This is just a bit of fun, but some people have to go and make up stories for attention or something. Although that is probably how this whole thing started !

Did you hear the group asking everyone to change their profile picture to their favourite cartoon characters is actually a group of paedophiles. Their doing it because kids will accept their friend requests faster if they see a cartoon picture.It has nothing to do with supporting child ...violence,It was on that tv show that warns you about internet frauds (snoops i think) plus tonight's news please copy and paste!

That's brilliant. One of my friends said it was all about paedophiles as a joke on someone else's status a few hours back. I mean, I'm sure it wasn't him that caused this to go full circle, but the levels of stupidity being hit here are incredible :D

Yep had that a lot. Copied and pasted though so just about without the grammar errors. I doubt they read it, probably just saw paedophile and rushed to facebook it!
