Mine now reads:

I just heard a a rumour that the internet was setup by an evil peadophile ring to get at your kids, people. It's a pretty solid rumour - I heard it on the internet, so I think it's true. Please copy and paste this to your status, and then unplug your router before the nonces get you all!

Hah.

:D

Just reactivated my FB account and noticed I got one person who believe the paedo 'theory'. I'd delete this person but it happens to be my aunt so really can't :(

One of my mates had the biggest laugh out of me today, pretty much says it all:

Sorry to steal this but it was so funny :D

Brick to stop world hunger campaign has started among my friends :)

£10 donated. Not a pointless campaign, fun and raised awareness.

Good work peige. I was very cynical about this whole thing (I always am when it comes to viral FB updates) but somebody here pointed out that if the whole thing caused just one person to donate who otherwsie would not have, then it was a success - so gotta hand that one to the FB Hivemind.

That 'justgiving' link, though - is it definitely straight? I don't know how justgiving works, but the NSPCC has a donate button on its homepage, so what's the need for this thing?

Would it be possible for someone just to create a justgiving page like this and profit?

Me and my close mates each put a tenner in so we raised £90 because of this. Dont get me wrong walking in the high street i always throw in a couple quid but at home i never think about it unless its comic relief as im to busy gaming! To slate something for doing good is idiotic and arrogant.

How do you change the world? one act of random kindness at a time. (yes its from a film but its a good view)

Not only has this succeeded in raising awareness its brought back memories from youth and shown just who is a snob, to proud to follow the majority even if its for a good cause.

Do you have a t-shirt with "I GAVE TO CHARITY" to wear out as well? :D

"I was just about to beat my child, then saw your cartoon character profile picture and decided against it. Thank you for your commendable courage and significant contribution in fighting the ongoing war against child abuse!"

If I was the kind of facebook user who liked stuff, then I'd like that. ^

Well i went for peado bear. Can't forget him lol

Ah, so many of my fb friends already have the little mite as their pic.

Edit: just changed my picture to a tiger. RAWWWW against violence towards children.

What is going on today? How does this raise awareness of violence towards children?

Exactly what I posted and I got a load of people giving me trouble. Not sure how on earth it helps violence towards children. I don't even think it's an offical NSPCC campaign.

It's not an official campaign, but try and get on nspcc website. The attention this has gained the website alone is huge, so it is having an awareness boost.
Is that a bad thing?

NSPCC Facebook page update:
NSPCC Fantastic news - we’ve reached 100,000 Facebook fans! Thank you! We are overwhelmed by your brilliant support this weekend. Please take a look
our our achievements from last year.

I think the people who are against this are pretty pathetic tbqfh, what a bunch of haters.
How much would it have cost the NSPCC for an advertising campaign that has gained this much coverage?
