I don't know what it is about me as I certainly do not think of myself as very mature for my age, or indeed very atractive to the opposite sex, but I have always gone out with older women for some reason. Not by much mind, usually a year or two or so. I find that I am attracted to them more (though that could just be a fluke) and they appear to like me more than younger girls.

Anyway, I have just started seeing a lady who my sister introduced me to but the age gap, at least in my eyes, is quite large. She is five years my senior at the age of 39.

She is attractive, successful (runs two companies), very fit and very solvent. She also appears to come with no baggage and she makes me smile. She is quite the opposite of how I feel about myself at the moment as my confidence has been pretty low recently. I can't for the life of me work out why she likes me but she really does appear to.

Why am I worrying about the damn age thing.

Should I be worried about the age thing?

I don't know why you are worrying, but don't. My GF is 6 years younger than me and it doesn't make a difference.... it's only a number.

Don't question it, you have obviously got something going for you that she likes just roll with it

You are in your thirties and she is only 5 years older than you and you are worried about the age gap, seriously? I wouldn't even really consider that an age gap!

I was expecting you to be 20 or something. 34 and 39 is hardly a big deal.

It's not the age gap so much but the age gap relative to your age. 17 and 22 is rather different to 34 and 39 for example.

5 Years at 34 is not a lot!

I dated a 25 year old... I was 19!

Age generally isn't an issue, don't see why it would be. Sometimes objectives can be different that's when problems arise.

You are 34, why the hell does 5 years difference concern you?

I dont know. Just makes me feel old I guess. Plus her clock is ticking on the baby thing. Obviously it will not be discussed at this moment, but she might really want one and I have never been sure.

Ticking? It's probably almost timed out on the baby thing. Yours should be ticking as well at 34! When are you going to do it, when you are 40 so the poor kid has a grandad for a dad when he's 18?
