I prefer the M24, i have the M95 via the specact kit pack, used it a few times, does pack a bit more power but it's slow to reload, id have preferred to see a semi auto .50 cal sniper rifle such as the M82.

I don't know if this help any one else who getting random CTD but after many hours of online play i have not crashed at all

It must have been PB when i updated it my self (thinking its best thing to do ) thats when i got the CTD at random times.

So what i did was verify game cache integrity on steam and it did fix 2 files and they must have been PB files as i have not done anything else.

After that i can play fine.

I could be wrong but worth a shot

SV98 is by far my favourite, 10-bullet clip must have saved me several times, having those extra 5-shots before reload is too good to miss imo.

Use the 4x scope and i find there's little to no bullet dip, close range its a one-shot kill anywhere on body generally, medium to longer ranges with the 4x you need to be rather precise but a head-shot is still 1-shot kill!

Oh and M95 is crap imo, far-too long to reload, tho it is powerful!

AFAIK Steam doesn't update PB, I could be wrong.

I have played BC2 maybe 10 hours online this week and I have had about three crashes, each time the game would just freeze during a match and I would have to ctrl-alt-delete and kill the process. I have manually updated PB using PB's own update program. No other game freezes so it seems to be a game issue rather than my machine.

If anyone has any other ideas as to why this is occurring and how to solve it, I would be grateful

The M95 is ridiculous. Its damage isn't that much better than the others but its reload time kills it. Its ability to damage aircraft is pointless, zomg 2 damage a hit!

I've almost got my M24 platted so i'll move onto the GOL i guess. Just means i've gotta get used to another bullet drop...

since hitting rank 50 i have not played much, feels like 'im there'

u sure was i was playing not very well last night
ive killed a heli with the m95 it was almost dead anyways so though id take a pot shot and guess what double kill

Surely thats what platinums are for? And apparently you're a bad Sniper You could always try the offensive shotgun Recon since on normal the recon probes are epic. Took some getting used to but i seem to have gotten the hang of the shotgun slugs now (though theres always the odd game where things just never seem to hit when they clearly should've done) which makes for some good shotgun sniping fun.

Looks like yet again the pilots for the Hueys only have acess to rockets, you'd think right click would start firing side mounted cannons =/

would be a bit op, rockets, cannons 2 m60's and the back passenger guns though wouldn't it?

THE 1ST SNIPER RIFLE THE GOL AND THE M95 ARE THE BEST IMHO THE GOL BEING MY FAV

the gol is only useful if you camp miles back and are **** at controlling the tiny wobble.

i never really got on with the m95 either but it hits very hard

it's something like a few % more dmg, not enough for a 1 hit body kill at range and all the bolt actions are 1 hit body kill within about 10ft anyway, it's a slower and generally crap restating of the m24.

and you can kill helicopters with it!

You can with any of the snipers.

i was on the SAS server lastnight having a good sniper battle with someone the other side of the map.. we were both in the open taking pot shots.. was quite funny actually

Huh? You sure about that? Aside from actually killing the pilot midflight i was sure the M95 is the only sniper rifle capable of directly damaging the helicopter though it only does 2 damage a hit.
