HD 6900's Here!

the switch turns from slow card that to a fast card , maybe the slow cards dont have a switch or its disabled to thats why leaks benches looks pap.

It's quite funny seeing all these guesses but you will find out in the next few days :)

Suprised no one has guessed it though.

well what ever it does it is obviously something your suppose to just set and then forget about, because who in their right mind is going to be opening up their case to operate switches every 10 Min's.

Does it have set positions (High, Med, Low or On/Off) or is it like a dimmer switch that can be set to any degree within the range?

ok thining about this switch methodically.
it wouldn't be a switch for what outputs to use, because surely that would be on the output panel.

its position would indicate something to do with the crossfire fingers.

its not going to be for power regulation because didn't they say that the tdp adjustment(overclocking) would be from the control panel (drivers

having a switch that turns of portions of the core, stupid idea, considering how complicated these gpus are is there really going to be a cheap little click switch to turn bits on or off.

no I'm sticking with it being something to do with crossfire.

maybe it allow you to pair up like cards in one position or unlike cards in the other, like a 6970 and a 6950. but then that would be stupid as they would just have it enabled all the time.

no idea we will have to wait and see.

I feel quite happy yes :) Though i am benchmarking a GTX 580 now so im bound to be happy :D

Andy

So it doesn't beat a 580, but it's going to be great value performance, and is a fair bit better than the previous gen

That's my stab at cold reading forum posts anyways lol
