Hi all

My wife is a primary school teacher (6/7 year olds) and has asked me to come up with ideas for recent decent Christmas movies to show her kids at the end of term. They must be classified 'u'.

Not having a clue about this genre, I'm turning to you OcUK for some help please!

Recommendations much appreciated. They only need to be very vaguely related to Christmas, if at all. Many thanks.

I'd have gone with Home Alone or The Nightmare Before Christmas but they're both PG apparently. Bad Santa and Die Hard are also unfortunately out for reasons of age appropriateness.

The Snowman and The Muppet Christmas Carol are probably the pick of those with a U rating.

//edit Charlotte's Web also has a U rating and isn't too bad.

Personally I would go with a film called Mysterious Skin. It stars Tommy from Third Rock from the Sun / Inception.

Edit - seriously, The Snowman's a good suggestion. I'm sure there are a few other ones on the Disney site?

How old are the kids and what subject is it?

It'd help if the film was even slightly related to what has been going on.
I was going to treat my year 6/7 class to the new 'A Christmas Carol', but not a single one did their English homework this week so sod them.

I'd go with Muppet's Christmas Carol or The Snowman, but if the kids see the same films every year it might not be particularly exciting.

There's no specific subject, the film's being shown in a slot that she'd normally be using for planning. Muppet Christmas Carol is currently front runner. They've all seen the snowman as it's always on on Christmas day.

Thanks all.
