I'm not usually one to whinge about how people use a public forum, but I'm getting really bored of people trashing threads where people are asking completely reasonable questions about Facebook with replies like 'lolfacebook', 'reinstall it' and 'Facebook sucks'.

Is it time to send these replies to room 101 to join Peadobear and thanksfortheinfo.jpg?
 
Any joke on here that last longer than a few days is boring. For some reason this forum seems worse for it than others I frequent.
 
Personally I think if you are going to "ban" this then you should ban "eggface", "Worst [whatever] thread ever" and every other OCUK meme.

Some people dislike facebook, get over it. EVERY thread, be it about facebook or not has people coming into it purely something useless, why should facebook threads be made immune to this?

Oh wait, is it because you base your entire social life around it and therefore any form of criticism directed towards it devalues that?

I mean that is probably utter rubbish and don't for a minute think I mean it but seriously, that's how it sounds.

Have you tried ignoring the offenders? For this to make any sense mods would have to remove every OT post from every single thread to avoid utter hypocrisy.

They could always ban facebook threads all together and make life easier for everyone concerned.

You can trash a thread by having a dozen equally unfunny muppets all flogging the last meme they saw on reddit to within an inch of it's life though.

Lots of posts just saying 'lolfacebook' is trashing the thread. Meme's get boring, too many go on too long, this is one of them
 
Not anywhere near as annoying as the "Cool story, bro" and similar comments that seem to pop up all the time. Yes, boring threads are made - don't make them worse :D

I find the "Worst [whatever] thread ever" to be far more boring, yet you don't see me calling for that to be banned do you?

I think it's less to do with the phrase and more to do with people disliking that people don't share their opinions on facebook.
