Well guys ive been putting together my 1156 rig for the past few months now and have got to :

Core i7 860
Evga P55 F.T.W mobo
8Gb DDR3 2000mhz Corsair ram
POV GTX465 (fully unlocked to gtx470)
Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 700W Psu
Creative X-fi Fatality Soundcard
2 x 1Tb WD black Harddrives
Samsung Blu-ray Drive

Everything run at stock apart from the GTX470 which is clocked to 851/1702/2002

Now i paid less than £140 delivered for the GTX465 and i am getting :

just over P5500 in 3dmark11

Talk about bang for buck :)

Great looking setup there. pics pics pics.

That EVGA P55 one sexy looking board I must say!:p

Well done on the 465/470 too!

Is that stock cooler on the 470 at that overclock? what voltage?

Most ive had my 470's at was, 800/1600/1700, 1.087v, havent tried pushing the memory higher yet, only gives me a few hundred extra points in 3dm 2011 at 1700 compared to stock.

With that setup I'd probably suggest the Corsair H50 seems to fit in with what you have going... tho not quite as good on the bangs for buck - that would be something like the ACF 7 Pro Rev 2 - and likewise intel stock HSF makes me sad lol.

never ended up using the freezer pro.... i went to install and found one of the clips bent at bottom so it gave me a reason to upgrade anyhow but now its just a matter of what to get ??

Was looking at the Thermalright silver arrow.

Silver arrow will be a great cooler, you'd need to check that it wont foul your ram as it's a pretty large cooler.

Should have sent me a message about the f7p, you never mentioned there was a problem (I've emailed you).

Are you after bang for buck, or just after a decent cooler? I picked up a Hyper 212 for very cheap and it's been excellent. A pain in the butt to install (motherboard out job), but works really well and is pretty quiet even with the standard fan on it :-)
