to much motors forum ? (I really think so)

5 mins a post is not conservative.

I think he was using someones post count as a guide to the total time they spent on the forum, not just posting. In that case I would say that it probably is conservative.

Personally I think I spend way too much time on forums which is why I now try and spend at least an hour an evening that I would normally spend on my pc on the net to do something more constructive.

Hardly ever post or browse the forum after 5.30. tbh rather sadly i'd be a bit miffed if I couldnt read up on motors on a given workday. After work...I hardly use a PC, save for the odd gaming jaunt.

It's almost routine for me now :)

Again? Seriously?

How much time to people spend watching tv?

but you are missing out, Eastenders, Corrie, Emmerdale, Xfactor, home and away, neighbours etc etc. How can you not watch these?

*cough*

plus 5minutes to make a post Flukester? Most posts will take under 30seconds.

He did say this includes reading time.

I assume most people don't just come on here, read nothing, make a post or two in a thread without reading it and then log off again? :p

That said, judging by the amount of times people post things that other people already have, maybe a lot of people do post like that :/

I don't know what the problem is. On a daily basis, I probably spend more time reading the Metro on the train, or baking one out on the bog.

At least you get to respond on here.

It's still 'only' 3 hour per day, for 8 years.

There's probably a lot of lurkers here who spend similar amounts of time on the forums, but just don't post as much.

I find it more sad that you have taken the time to work all that out.

Now add up how much money Fox has saved people in this very sub-section by giving out good advice.

I <3 Fox.

Personally i think it's quite a constructive past time & these days with smart phones people don't have to sit in to stay in touch/post etc.

this post is not flame bait but I'm genuinely interested on everyones thoughts here..

when I'm having a quick browse of motors I often look at who's online, and it's often just a select 'hardcore' user group...

this made me think about do many of us spend to much time on a forum, it's scary scary stuff.

Fox, I'm going to use you as a example as your the most prolific poster, not a dig... but I think it will shock you beyond belief

not much I guess over a few years... but if you start to make some calcs on the figures it is scary beyond words.

now take the post count and * 5 (5 mins would be a figure to include typing your post and reading / rereading thread, this is VERY conservative)

total time used: 520515 mins

nowwwwwwwww....... that is a total of (big fanfare here)

361 Days solid posting / reading

Life is really short, is 1 year posting on a forum a waste of it ?, I'm as guilty, this post is a waste of time also, but internet use is going a bit far maybe ? (bordering on obsession)

Loads of high post counters here... what you all think ?, I'm cutting back as much as I can on net use as it scares me.

You have met Fox right? If so, you'd realise he is exactly the type of person to sit in front of a computer at every possible opportunity :D

you read the thread once. from then on your replies, and other peoples replies only take a min at most to read. Its only when you join a thread late that it takes time to read what other people have said.

Shock as people found on computer hardware enthusiast website enjoy sitting in front of computers.

Tune in tommorrow for breaking news from North America, where bears have been found to **** in the woods :p
