I've never had the flu....until now. I get 4/5 colds a year but never the flu.

Urgh.

Fever
Temperature changes
Cough
Feel lethargic
Phlegm in throat
Blocked Nose

Anyway, I've just been sleeping and taking over the counter meds. Not asking for any medical advise but how long does a stint of flu usually take to go away if you do nothing more than rest?

Yes, you don't eat for days, can't get out of bed, and one second you are boiling, and next you are really cold with 4 layers on and a duvet and still cold.

Had it a couple of times.

Had it from last Sunday through to Thursday, basically felt like complete **** was bed ridden.

Left with the after effects now which is basically a dry cough and phlegm on my chest.. I'm coughing quite a lot which is making my lower back ache when I do. Not nice. I always seem to have this cough after having a bad cold/flu which lasts for a good two weeks.

Seem to get an annual 'flu unfortunately - this time it was September so I'm hoping this nasty head cold I have now won't turn into 'flu as well.

I know when I've got it - it's pretty hard to mistake a fever, and then once that's run its course, the cold sweats as the fever breaks - hallucination time, wheee :(

Last night I had to go downstairs at 4.30am to turn the heating on despite having my duvet, dressing gown and slanket on.

I am eating though...only very small portions.

I think I've only had it once. Bed ridden for 6 days, horrible sweats, temp 43c, liquids continuously coming out of both ends, literally wishing for death.

ive had man flu but i dont really want to go into the symptoms i had because it's quite scary!

wouldn't want to wish in on any man to be honest.

I don't think I have, unless I was very young. I've just had bad colds, which it sounds like the OP has too.

If you had flu you wouldn't be able to post on a forum.
