Completely out of it, what's the best Nvidia card for £150-250?

As title really, does anyone know what the best value current Nvidia card for £150-250 is?
Or what the best cards are about £150, 200 and 250.

Preferably on the lower side with a good warranty:p

It's for my brothers Q6600 system that he normally plays games at either 1680x1050 or 1920x1080 on, he doesn't want to pay a lot extra for say 2-3fps over another much cheaper card.

Plenty of choice atm...

GTX470
GTX460
HD6870
HD6850

all good cards and plenty of variety & variation in prices.

If he's willing to wait a few days/weeks there's a GTX560 and maybe a new AMD card in that price range, I dunno.

For £250 this nothing else comes close: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-066-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1810

For everything else given your requirements this looks like the best choice - assuming you/he won't be overclocking:

Its almost as fast as the £200 GTX470s while having better cooling, using less power and offering the best value for money, this covers the £150 and £200 price points.

EDIT: Simplified post

I did put that in the first revision of my post above, but after agonising over it in the context of the OPs requirements as its only a stock GTX470 the higher end OC'd GTX460s offer better value for money while being very close performance wise. If he was planning to overclock then it might be a little different.

All the cards mentioned here are very thought out choices.

I would say however that I agree with Rroff.

Either of those cards would be good.

I would say the 460 he has linked to is basically a 470, and the 470 he has linked to is basically a 480.

So pretty good value and cooling solutions as well.

Depending on resolution i would go 470.

Wait a few days and see what happens to GTX570 prices as thats a superfast card & should be around £275 ish but you get a LOT of performance for that extra £££

asus geforce gtx 460 top 768mb

£111.61 inc

average extra 4fps . . .

Do you have to purchase from OcUK? :D

Cause I've seen a GTX570 for £259 with a further discount of £10. That would probably be the best choice within the budget :)

As of right now I would say wait for the GTX 560 stock should be coming this month as there has been no word of a delayed release.

should be £200 or less and should be the best bang for buck card as of right now, depends on what the 6950 performance and price is going to be at.

while on the subject of Nv cards , can any one post a pic of the "HDMI & VGA Adapters" that come supllied with Nv cards these days ?

ideally i need a "HDMI Female To Mini HDMI Male Cable" to use my full size HDMi cable in the graphics card for my HTPC set up,with space very limited at the back of my machine i'd rather not have a adaptor sticking out of the graphics card if i can by a cable that i can tuck away or fold tightly behind the machine
