Hi,

I have an i5 760...which out of these 2 mobo's should i get baring in mind i will be OC'ing.

Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard

Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard

I believe they are both good boards, but the Gigabyte is on special ending tomorrow, so I would probably go with that board.

Question, which brand is more popular and provides the better customer support, between Gigabyte and Asus?

Gigabyte boards have outstanding after-market support here in the UK. They are for me far and away the best. The board that is on special. LINK is a fine overclocker and has astounded the benching world with the results that it produced as did its smaller brother the Mini-ITX board. One of the reasons is the bios - all the Gigabyte bios's are basically the same and geared towards the performance user. Simple to use and service to match.

Just to put things in perspective I own a number of other brands motherboards too. I bench as a hobby so try out all the boards to see which are best for my sport. But my current favourite boards are all Gigabyte. P55 and X58 chipset.

im leaning towards AMD Phantom II at the moment, can you recommend a few of those? (preferibly not much more than £100 depending how future proof or benefit it is to pay more)

Sorry mate I do not know much about AMD stuff so can not really recommend a board. Do not bench them you see.

It might be a good idea to start your own thread. That way the people here who are quite expert on the AMD side of things will be able to help you.
