Hi All After reading PC Monitors review of the new Benq XL 2410T 3D Screen i am wondering if the picture quality you would get off a DVD/Blu Ray film would be better on the Dell IPS 2311H , as in the conclusion it does state that the picture quality of the Benq XL2410T isn,t that great, any views please ? thanks

: i quote " The real strength of the XL2410T is not its image quality, which whilst not great is certainly acceptable"

What are you wanting to use the monitor for?

If it is for just watching DVD's and Blu Ray films then less money can be better spent elsewere.

If you are looking to play games more specifically games in 3D, games in 2D at 120hz then the Benq loses ground against some of its competitors in image quality. Though it makes up for it in input lag, response times, adjustability...did you read the review done by PCM2? ;)

You need to ask yourself, what are you REALLY going to use it for.

Yeah i read the review and it is very good , i will use it mostly for watching films , so i think i,m more leaning towards an ISP panel something like the Dell 2311H as i,m never going to play games 3D or 2D

If you're purely going to watch films and no gaming, a *VA panel would probably be better as it'll provide better blacks and contrast ratio. Something like the BenQ EW2420 or BL2400PT (providing you get one that's without defects) or the Samsung 2333T. Although the Dell U2311H is a decent all-rounder.

+1

VA panels are an excellent choice for movies as your primary use. I can't recommend the EW2420 enough for this kind of task (provided you get a defect-free one).

For your uses it sounds like a 32in 1080p TV like the Samsung LE32C530 for £300 would be your best bet. It uses a VA panel and seem to play movies/video very well. Plus the bigger screen size (coupled with the relatively high resolution for a TV this size) will make the video watching experience much more immersive compared to a 24in monitor.

However, if you want a monitor (ie smaller size, higher pixel density) - then I certainly agree with crackerbear and PCM2 that a VA monitor like the BenQ EW2420 would be a good choice.

thanks a lot for the info very helpful , so what are the chances of getting a defected Benq VA Screen as PMC2 & Crackerbear stated above ?
