hi

cant wait till xmas day , the kids will be on their xboxes , my ps3 and very capable pc will be turned off and im going to have some serious retro fun . im trying to get originals of all the games i liked the most : speedball 2 , gods ,elite , chaos engine turrican 1 and 2 , project x plus others . my wife has already wrapped it up .

i can hear speedball 2 in my head '' ice cream ice cream '' lol

Haha the ice cream shout still rings round our hosue occasionally. Though seems hard to find people who understand. Making me want to get the Amiga out the loft for some fun too now. Speedball, cannon fodder and skidmarks were my favorites.

Ice cream lol What a game. I always liked Shadow of the Beast 2 and Sensible Soccer, plus North and South Railroad Tycoon and the likes. THE original Championship Manager quality games from times past. Enjoy

Emulators would do the job wouldn't they? Although that probably wouldn't be so much nostalgic as pointless the feeling of why am I Playing an emulator when I could be playing a more modern game.

I think my spectrum is in a loft somewhere, along with many other consoles.

Remember the ridiculous end of season load times on the original Championship manager, leaving it on overnight was often the best option. Took about 1.5 hours to start a new game as well iirc.

Prior to Champ man I used to love Player Manager. Other favourites were Strider, The Spy Who Loved Me, Stunt Car Racer, World Championship Boxing Manager, IK+, California Games, Syndicate...those were the days can even remember there was a version of x-copy professional or something that ran tetris while you copied

Sold my Amiga a couple of years ago when moving house but got the urge to play recently so been using some emulators. Also bought myself a Competition Pro USB Joystick for some retro gaming goodness.

Anyone remember Moonstone?

Very violent for it's day, but loads of fun playing multiplayer with some mates.

My mate had a 500, so I went and bought a 1200. He wasn't pleased as he couldn't play my games, but I could his. :p

Ice cream, ice cream. Ah, memories...

Another one joins or returns too the amiga fold :D Excellent news!

Did you have one originally or is this your first? The problem with owning anything amiga related is you get the bug and end up potentially spending a lot of money lol. I started with an a500 way back in the day! Love the shape on these so much im toying with the idea of taking an empty case from a dead one and then fitting an matx motherboard, defeats the object tbh but why not!

Im also about to whip out an a1200 thats been languishing in my storage for years and then slap in some ide compact flash goodness, I have 1gb and 2gb flashcards here ready and if I do it right I can mount these on a pc using an amiga emulator. Ive even been on a quest buying up lots of unused floppy disks from charity shops and the like as I have a catweasal mk4 (allows reading and writing of amiga disks on a pc)

Time for some retro xmas fun :D
