Christmas Trees

left my xmas tree out for the binmen to take away to the tip. Wont be putting one up or celebrating xmas. not cos im a miserable git or anything but it holds no joy for me.

How can it hold no joy? Most people are off work.
Got friends coming round on sat for a christmas meal and games, next week going for a curry with old school mates, many of which i haven't seen since last year, then i get to spend Christmas with the amily, christmas is what you make of it, with a bonus of most people gavibg time of work and coming back home to parents or move about do you get to catch up with old mates.

I always loved going down to the forest to pick the Christmas tree when I was a kid (Tyrebagger forest near Blackburn, for any Aberdonians, is awesome!). My parents/brother never got a look in, it was always my decision. We'd spend about an hour trying to find the perfect one. It was always stupidly big, and every year my Dad would have to cut it down so it would fit in the living room.

Tempted to get a tree this year, but I'll be in Prague for Christmas so not really much point. I've hung up some lights though, they are pretty.

Do I win?

house is decorated but with garlands and stuff this year and a little tree. Normally have a monster one but my son is 2 and would definitely pull it over

I quite like the idea of the trees that you re-plant after the Christmas period is over, there are some that you hire so you can get the same tree every year if you like.

You don't even have to plant it yourself in the back garden, they come and collect from you and plant it in their own plot of land.

u know what?

Does anyone know what area of land is needed to grow all these damn trees for some generic families one day a year celebration ?

If the population is say 55million, how many households do we have? How many xmas trees are grown just for xmas day for the UK ?

surely that's a good thing, more forests?

That picture has reminded me to investigate... that buldge and shadow on Ramb...err, Freefallers left arm is mostly due to a huge vein. Not bicep, a vein.
