It's usually a VGA cable:

Although if you're going to be using that GTX 260, from what I can tell that only has 2x DVI slots on the back. If the back of your TV has the same connector then you'd need a DVI cable.

It does only have 2 DVI slots, however the TV does not have that connection it has the 15 pin one with the middle row slightly off centre.

You can get VGA to DVI adaptors for a couple of pounds. Sounds like your TV has VGA output. Does it not say in writing what the connection type is? RGB/Analogue/VGA/D-Sub/D15

Just get an adaptor - they're cheaper (unless you don't have a DVI cable at the moment). Neither way will break the bank though ;).

Malazan, did your graphics card not come with a DVI to VGA adapter? They usually include one in the box, i.e. this:

Then all you need is a VGA cable (male both ends). You might have one lying around, I somehow have tonnes of them.

Yeah, I could not the DVI cable but I did have some VGA adapters, so bought a VGA cable instaed.

Just gonna test it now.

Hmmm, all i'm geting is the desktop background i've tried a vid off the Hard Disk - nothing.
Do you only have the TV connected to your PC or have you got a monitor and TV connected at the same time?

Is the only thing you see the desktop background or can you see the taskbar/Start menu, windows etc?

What happens exactly when you play a video? Do you see the media player software with a black area where the video should be or just absolutely nothing appears at all?

1. Both at same time.

2. Desktop only and the mouse pointer

3. Nada. Nothing happens at all, no visual change to TV screen occurs.

Hi there,

May I ask what version of windows you are using?

Also, how did you set up dual screen? Did you use the "Nvidia control panel" and select the "dualview" option?

HI,

Vista.

I didn't set up the dualview option, when I did no problems. Just a matter of changing the primary and sec monitors over in NV control panel as and when, I'm not really after a dual display, I just want to be able to watch stuff off my HD on my TV in bed.

Thanks, your suggestion did thr trick.

Merry Christmas!

:D
