Hmmm...

Just to make sure I understood:
You want to buy a graphics card for 100GBP which will make you being able to play games on ultra high settings (resolution, effects etc.), yes?

Would you mind to let me know, once you will find such a card?

amd athlon ii x4 640. atm i'm just using my onboard graphics on my motherboard cos didn't have the cash at the time to buy a graphics card, and dont know wat speed it's at dont know how to check, in game it gets jumpy at times even with graphics on fair thats why i need a new card.

Ok, so if my numbers are correct your cpu is running at 3.0ghz (stock). Naturally, I am assuming you have a stock cooler on it and I think I am right in saying that the 'multiplier' is locked on these cpu's.

I recommend learning the very basics of overclocking (literally making one change in the bios - the 'FSB'), then once you know what to do I would try and overclock your cpu. Now I wouldn't go too high because I don't think your cooler will be able to hold the heat back since it is probably a bog standard one. However, I don't see why you can't attain somewhere between 3.0 - 3.4, but don't forget to monitor the temperature of the two cores with a program like 'Coretemp'. An overclocked cpu will give you more fps in online games.

Regarding your graphics card, if £100 is thee absolute max you have available I would look at something like this :

However, I can't emphasize enough that it would be so much more preferable if you had a tiny amount more to spend, and get something like :

^^Now that would be overkill for your res but it would satisfy your gaming needs for a long, long time. Absolutely cracking card! (Currently pre-order only).

Another one worth considering :

I should also add that you could try looking into second hand cards as well if you are reluctant to spend near or all of your budget.

If you really can't stretch to the pre-order 5850 which is a v.good card for the money, then I would agree that the 5770 is a good card for you(like the look of the HIS, one of the reviews mentions playing WoW on max!).One thought though, is your power supply complete with the correct connectors to supply the card you choose? If not you will have to buy adaptor/s (only a few quid but if budget is fixed, this has to be thought of).
