***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

While you're all complaining about your B-spec drivers mine are currently 17 laps ahead of the competition on the Suzuka 1000KM and far from finished :D They're lapping about 30% faster :D

My driver is awesome, it's the track that's fail :(

edit: Still, at least it's not just my driver being screwed up, the lead car just went and spun giving my guy 2nd without a fight :D

edit2: This is getting seriously tiresome (no pun intended, honest). He got into the lead again and the VERY NEXT LAP he spun it again, exactly the same as the previous two times he's taken the lead. Back into second again now.

edit3: Lead car spun again lol Seriously, racing shouldn't be about who can keep going the longest without spinning out on a bad section of track.

The new patch is excellent.

Being able to back up my save game makes me happier to invest more time in the game.

The five special races are cool, handsome rewards for winning them all. I only finished second in the Fiat 500 one, but I didn't bother tuning the transmission, so I'm sure I'll win that when I try it again. The others were pretty easy to win, almost too easy for the amount of money you won.

Still don't see myself ever getting 100% in GT5 though as I really don't care for B-Spec.

Did some more online races tonight as well, they are certainly my favourite aspect of the game. I'm surprised there hasn't been more OLR activity from everyone in this thread.

Im struggling to finish 1st in the Fiat 500 seasonal race, best I can do is finish 2nd about 4 seconds behind the winner.

Earnt a nice amount of money tonight in these new races, im just 500k off having enough for the formula GT. :D

Mwuahahaha! Talk about dumb AI. Final race in the Formula event and it's raining. I changed to rain tires and hey presto my guy just pulled away from the entire pack on the first corner; they've all got regular racing tires on and will have to waste even more time all pitting in to change them after the first lap lol

I thought they only did this if you forgot to change tires too but apparently they just suck that much all on their own :D

I had something simular happen yesterday in a B-spec race. I forgot to change to rain tyres but luckily so did everyone else, so no harm done. In the next race everyone had rains but the AI cars still performed as if they didnt, my man lapped them on 3 laps of the nurburgring.

They seem to forget pretty much every time really, I have a tendency to start the race without thinking only to remember I should've changed to rain tires and think I'm going to end up last, then find find out they've all done the same as well. It's happened every time for me, in b-spec at least. I haven't had a rain event in a-spec so don't know if it's the same there.

And I'm just about to finish b-spec formula GT event :D Then I'm hitting the sack as it's way later than I wanted to be in bed (shouldn't have started this event so late).

I'm trusting my B-speccers to do Suzuka unsupervised this time  Leaving it on through the night, and will come down to tonnes of XP and a bit more cash :D

I've not actually done any of the endurance races supervised and won by a country mile :D

OK, so my Toyota Minolta now has 20,000 miles on the clock :o so what lol

Won the Fiat 500 seasonal after my 3rd attempt with mods on the car. Only other one I tried was the Tokyo R246 but I did that on first attempt.

Really enjoying the extra events, I hope they keep adding new ones once the current one expires.

I had to go to bed without completing the FIAT 500 one, I was less than a second behind him on every go by the end, but I've got a senior management conf call this morning, feel like death as it is :o
