They are seperate from the game, you play with different characters etc you can upload your character from the main game to play on the modules but you cant take your party and cant take items from the modules to the original game (Atleast i dont think you can)
Once you do some achievements in the DLCs however you unlock special items which end up in the vanilla game.
I can't say for sure, I got my DA:O retail and DA: Ultimate from the EA store(it was a special deal, £12 or something).
But the EA download was all of the content in one go, main game, expansion, all the dlc, so I would imagine steam would be the same.

Yes. Definately. Apart from MW2 the other later ones have been good imo, but not AS good as COD4 was for its time. Only thing it's missing is coop missions, which BO doesn't have either. Well worth a tenner.

yeah played a demo of just cause 2 on the xbox worth a fiver just for a laugh
Don't really know if anything is worth it in todays sale for me personally! Bully is supposed to be a god awful port with terrible controls (and i don't have a dual analog controller to try and counter that). Just cause 2 is £5, which is definately a good price but i'm not sure if the I'd ever get £5 of gameplay out of it - seems like something i'd stick on mess around and not touch again.
Steam is really not doing very well in this sale so far as nearly every single game has already been on special offer many very recently so all they are doing is repeating this 
Hope the publishers step up & offer some more decent new titles soon as this is pretty poor IMO they have a large audience waiting to buy but are offering mainly tainted goods (games which sold poorly which is why they are on sale now!).
