Hi everyone,

My girlfriend has given me £200 for Christmas to get some presents for myself.

I can't think of anything I want that wouldn't mean me adding cash myself. Would like surround sound setup but would mean me adding about £400. Have also thought about getting one of those HP microservers but can't help thinking there must be something better to spend the money on.

So, my question to you all is... what would you buy yourselves for Christmas if you had been given £200 to spend?

Many thanks for ideas.

Edward

What a complete cop-out from your girlfriend. She should be the one out there finding nice gifts for you and putting more effort into it :/

nom nom nom. It's calling you! :D You can't beat it, £112, with £88 to spend on beer money / more hard drives/more RAM for the server

If you put £50 towards it, you could get this! ;)

So OP would have to:

Buy voucher
Wait for email
Buy what he wants to buy
Oops...has money left over from the voucher

OR:

OP Buys what he wants to buy
Exact money comes out of his bank account.

Which one makes more sense? ;)

That would suck, Christmas is all about surprises.

If you don't know what you want then I would just keep it and put it towards an iPad2 when it comes out in April

Use the money to take a hotter, far more creative and far less lazy girl on a couple of dates.

Also, dump your existing girlfriend for being rubbish.

Somewhat off topic but how is that as a media server and has anyone got OSX running on it?

Cheers :)

Not using it as a media server ATM but should be absolutely fine! I'm really surprised how quick it is! Some people on that Hot Deal site ;) are running Amahi on it, so I doubt there's a problem with using it as one! Not seen anyone attempt to put OSX on it. Will be kinda difficult since it has an AMD processor.
