You could purchase at retail and then activate on Steam, but not directly on Steam in the UK untill now.

Probably done to appease retailers.

So why is it an instant buy. I mean what do you like about it. From screenies it just looks like a fantasy game either a rpg or story based hack and slash.

Watched a review on utube. Looks alright but when it says about equipment and skills blah i hate that stuff makes it too much of a think what to use when all i want is crap medium then good weapon as u progress and leave it as that.

It says its like zelda, now im asuming they mean like the zelda games on consoles after snes cos no zelda game is as good as link to the past. 3d ones look crap imo.

I have wanted a nice platform game and this looked promising but due to inventory and skills which implies their is a lot of and a crap system with icons instead of just an average normal interface for it then i duno. I had star wars force unleashed that was cool till i had to deal with powers and stuff which put me off playing it all together.

Looked almost like a game i could enjoy but few negatives means ill probs skip it. Plus i heard in the review controls are complicated for combos, which with my crap memory ill never remember lol.

Damn tho its probs me getting too old for gaming, when i was younger id be all over this and many other games but at 28 my attention spam is 10-20 mins then go browse net and im far more picky about games which if their got lots to do for skills/inventory i tend to avoid. I only bought the witcher recently cos of the open world of it or at least i hope it will be as just started first chapter. The powers and stuff in that put me right off but im trying to deal with it but damn hard to not just quit and not play any more of it.

If i did get it it would have to have save anywhere feature as ill play it for 5 mins then quit a lot. :p

If i buy a game on steam, but dont donwload it yet, as Im playing another game, I wont have any problems if in the next few weeks after finishing current game I try to download this and play it?

No.

Once you buy a game on Steam, it's attached to your account to download & install whenever afaik.

I think that review you've seen has oversold the complexity of Darksiders. All of the systems in Darksiders are simple, yet can also be a lot deeper if you want that from the game. The controls for example, you could quite easily get through the game using one or two of the basic combos.

The similarities to Zelda are mainly in how the game is structured and how upgrades are handed out, ie you go to new dungeon, earn new item (grappling hook, bombs etc) then use it throughout the rest of the area.

It's a drum I keep beating, but Darksiders is easily my favourite game of 2010. That doesn't mean I can guarantee you will like it, but I can say the concerns you have don't really apply to Darksiders, infact I'm quite sure the reviewer was smoking crack at least when he wrote the review if not also when playing the game :p.

It's not bad, but in no way as good as Zelda which it seems to get likened to.

Had it on the 360, I quite enjoyed the idea, but ended up getting bored about 2/3 of the way through and haven't finished it.
