Yeah right ..

After complaining that the C3 courtesy car I had was too small Halliday Citroen decided to palm me off with a C5, not just any C5 though but a mark 1 bottom of the range 1.8 C5 that's had the balls ragged off it for 77k miles. The front tyres were almost flat, there are what looks like jism splashes up the inside of the doors and if you dare try any sort of clutch control the whole car shakes like Michael J Fox.

All this pales into insignificance though because I have a button to raise and lower the suspension brah!

Eww gawd, having had a similar car before I feel your pain. Mine was a diesel one that'd been completely trashed and wouldn't go above 3000rpm. Really ran very, very oddly :D

It's the new C5 that's 'Unmistakably German'.

The old one's a pile of ****.
Had to laugh when a dealer tried to sell me one for nearly £8k as it had only done 20k miles. Pff..

Well, it's just about roadworthy.

I'm wondering though, rather than just driving around with the suspension fully raised for the craic, is there some reason you'd need to? e.g. for when you have to ferry around an exceptionally fat passenger or something?

I used to use the suspension on high for negotiating floods. You can also use it to change a wheel without using a jack.

I was almost excited when he said he was giving me a C5, I assumed it'd be brand new and top trim like the C3 I had, when the mechanic drove it round though I thought it was taxi, my heart sank when he got out and gave me the keys.

Tjhere is on ly 1 thing to do in that situation, thrash it mercilesly and see if you can kill it

Yes i agree with that if its a mate but nasty courtesy cars well, less so

Yeah, I hate dealers!

Took the V70 in for a service, they give us a frikking base level C1.

Just so happened the dog needed to go to the vet, and Dad had to fetch some parcels for hs work.

Couldn't fit any of it in the car, and the blighter couldn't pull away in gear 2 on the most minuscule of inclines.

It's a COURTESY car! They're not obliged to give you one so just be grateful, as someones gone to trouble to sort this for you.

He doesn't have to use that garage either, they should be grateful for his business not treat him like a tramp.

They gave him a C3, as is par for the course when you get a courtesy car it tends to be a supermini/city car. When I use the Skoda dealer I get a Fabia or a Roomster for example.

He said that this wasn't big enough and got a bigger car, IMO that is the garage going above and beyond. Not too sure what he is expecting them to do? Give him one from the showroom?

Completely agree. Last courtesy car I had was a 99 Passat with 133k on the clock. Still treated it with respect though.

Courtesy cars here cost in excess of £50 a day. I don't know of any dealer that gives them for free.

I've managed to wrangle a 118d when my Z3 was in for work that should have been done (on top of a service) before I bought it, but there's no chance of getting one for free when it's just in for a service or any other work.
