Do the moderators do a good job keeping these boards fair and impartial when it comes to religious or political views ?
 
I would assume as long as nobody is a dick then there is no problem. It's not up to them to keep them fair or impartial, unless it's starts getting onto dodgy ground that could end up with ocuk in the poo-poo.
 
I think they are impartial, yes. I also think that this forum is getting a reputation for certain types of posts and that if I were the owner of OCUK I'd do something about that.

Ocuk has a business image to think about. Don't want certain ethnic or religious customers to feel not welcomed or alienated.

Wait, you want Spie to stop people having certain opinions on here?

I can't see a downside to that at all.
 
I don't think I've ever come across an incident where they haven't. I think these forums have one of the best Mod/Admin teams on the net to be honest.

On a side-note, if you've got some bad air that needs to be cleared, I'd suggest taking it up in person with the moderator involved or another member of forum staff rather than opening up public discussion, as the latter never really achieves anything :)

On the whole I think the MODs are OK, though I disagree with several decisions now and then ... such as removing posts in the Ramadan thread when I said that I as going to go and enjoy a nice bacon sarnie as I did not believe in their religious nonsense, but they were welcome to carry on starving themselves.

Yes, I think they do a fantastic job considering the amount threads and posts they have to “police”. They can be fast and deadly when needs be and leave us with a great easy going forum.
 
Seems pretty good to me, everything is kept on the level and they don't act like the Gestapo as some boards do.
Don't fix what ain't broke.
