Darksiders - Finally available on Steam in the UK - £5

Bought it. I always liked the find items like grapplehook and stuff in zelda and if u say its a bit like that then sounds cool. I just prey theirs a quick save feature cos i hate games where i cant save and am forced to play till a certain point or somit.

If i dont like it im hunting you down wedgie. :p

The game autosaves plus there's a save option in the menu. Again the system works much like in Zelda, it will save your progress and put you in a certain area/room rather than save to the exact spot you were when you turned the game off.

The powers and upgrades, just leave them unless you get curious. I Played the 360 version first and didn't touch them on that playthrough.

EDIT

You can hunt me down as long as you play beyond the first portion of the game where it will try its best to come accross as generic hack and slash :p.

Bought also but ive also bought JC2 ME2 that tower defence game and about million others! :( lol think i got the steam disease :(

I almost brought this a few weeks ago for xbox & talked myself out of it, so for £5 it seemed rude not too. Just gotta wait on the d'l now, seems Steam isn't coping to well with the extra loads.

The game seems to be crossover between god of war and devil may cry. Is it worth getting it for £5? Also is it a short game or does it involve lots of playing hours?

It's a reasonably long game by today's standards. On my last save before the final boss, playtime is 13hr 37min (although this is my second playthrough so I'm sure it took longer the first time).

Ok just checked some reviews on youtube and it seems as impressive as god of war and better than devil may cry series. The action is brilliant and fast paced. I enjoyed god of war3 and I think I will be buying it definitely :).

There's a decent IGN walkthrough for this too. It's not really necessary for 2/3's of the game as it's mostly straightforward. Late on though the game does start to get a little puzzle heavy and introduce some backtracking. There's also a late game mechanic that unless you already know what I'm referring to, you won't be expecting.

Just played an hour and half. Seems solid and decent so far combat is a bit mashy but i havent got to any of the dungoens and puzzle parts. Enjoying what im playing so far.

Also is it me or does this game have no graphic options apart from resolution? No option to change to low medium or high detials

Nope, that's all you get. It's essentially the 360 version at a much higher res.

The artstyle makes up for this somewhat, although it did take a while for it to grow on me.

Are most modern PC games Xbox360 ports? If this is the case then why PS3 ports aren't used?

it looks fine i was just wondering if there lower settings for people playing on cheap laptops or anything. It runs about 80FPS on my i5 with 460GTX.

So what happens if for example i was playing this on my rubbish HTPC with a Athlon X2 5000 and a 8600GT? Just lower the resolution and pray for the best? Seems odd
