Poll: Do mods do their job properly ?

I'm going yes. I don't disagree at all with people questionning others beliefs, but too often it becomes an attack on those beliefs. That's where we need more moderation.
 
No, unless it applies to everything, ie much stricter (or more lax but i suspect the pol is aimed to wards stricter) moderation on any political or economic thread, can't have the right offending the left or the left offending the right, the Tories offending the labour supporters and vis versa, definitely have to apply to any thread that so much as mentions Scotland as well and the CT threads.

I didn't claim bashing Mulsims was racist. What I meant was Muslim bashing and/or racism.

Agree.

There is a large thick line and very clear line between having an opinion and making blatant racist, xenophobic and generally inappropriate comments. Some members with the cognitive capabilities of a 2 year old are evidently inept at making the distinction, much to the detriment of OCUK's wider image.

I don't think it is good for OCUK to get tarnished with negative marketing and such posters should be eradicated from the forum.

OCUK forums are supposed to be family friendly and have, for example, a very strict and much welcome no swearing policy. Many comments on OCUk are clearly not family friendly, unless one considers the BNP as family.

but some should not be banned for saying something that they later regret but cannot change the fact as its to late.

Dont reply saying "they shouldnt have said it then" as we ALL say things in the heat of the moment
 
Anyone who thinks that the mods are harsh should see other forums such as the escapist, make a slightly sexist or even laugh at a sexist joke and you get suspended.

I believe this forum has a good balance of wittiness and discipline.
 
Opps I voted yes and didn't read the vote question. I thought I was voting for "Do mods do their job properly?". I realy should have voted no too "Would you like OcUK to change the way it moderates race/immigration/muslim threads?"

I imagine lots of people have fallen for this as well, you need to change the question to reflect the title of the thread.

Disagree but the Draw Muhammed thread went on far too long and I was ashamed to be a member.
We have to learn that we have our own OCUK Muslims on these forums and even though some posters were drawing to upset the extremists the Dons and members have to understand that:
a) No extremist Muslims would be looking on our forums
b) We're still upsetting our OCUK Muslims who have done nothing to harm us.
 
I think there is opinions, then just racist stereotyping which isnt on in my eyes, there are a huge amount of Daily Fail reading idiots here though :(

Racial/sexual/and other type of stereotyping is more than acceptable when used in a comedic fashion though ;)
