Steam christmas sale 2010... *twitch*

Yeah I make sure I've got everything installed off Steam unless I've completed it or have physical media for it. Especially important if you have bandwidth caps, I make sure I suck it all down offpeak and then it's ready for when I want to play.

For example I've got some games on Steam that have been installed for years but I haven't got round to playing them yet :)

me too :)

Bought Batman AA, Flatout UC, The Witcher EE, FEAR 2 and Mass Effect 2 so far which is about 40GB worth of games QQ. Doesn't help that the london servers are being humped.

More deals in a couple of hours though!

Imagine how awesome it would be to be a newcomer to PC gaming, you know, for xmas you've been gifted an i7/6GB/DX11 setup. Then you could just buy:

THQ Pack: £35
Valve Pack: £25
Edios/Square Pack: £50
2K Pack: £60
Rockstar Pack: £28
Unreal Pack: £8

£224 for all that gaming, even before you start cherry picking individual games from the sales

Kinda annoying for me, I look at those packs and think great value, but e.g. the Eidos pack I bought last year when the Square stuff and some other wasn't in it, 2k pack would be nice but I already own Bioshock, Borderlands, UFO, etc

The paradox pack is ridiculous. I paid 29.99 for a lot of the games in there... it is insane value, anyone who hasn't checked it out. buy it.

M&B is one of the best games ever made.

EU3, HOI3, Vic2 are the best grand strategy games ever...

There is just too much in this pack and some of them are not even very old! I paid 29.99 for Victoria 2 only a couple of months ago!

Next year I'm not going to buy anything and just wait for the steam sales methinks.

Done it....

Mass Effect purchased, wanted ME2 more, but in the end i agree, it would be silly to miss out the first part of the trilogy, also, given just how hopeless i am at RPG's, it will be Steam Christmas sale 2011 before i finish it, at which point ME2 should be only £5..:)

Not to mention the fact i'll be down to just 4GB on my Steam partition after ME1 is installed..:(

Thanks for the BFBC2 recommendations - played 4 hours now and absolutely love it, despite not really being a FPS fan :D :D :D

Lol...i love FPS games but loathe and detest BC2 which i got in this years sale...

Me thinks the force has found balance....:D

:D

I really want Assassin's Creed 2 but refuse to buy it while it has UBIsoft's moronic DRM - surely Steam is enough?

Well this is good. Downloading kotor at 50kbps and steam crashes when installing CS:S.

Edit CS:S is installing now at full speed - yet KOTOR is stuck at 30-80kbps?????????

Unfortunately not. As the Ubi DRM is so entwined with the game removing it just for the Steam version isn't possible.

Generally I don't give two hoots about DRM, it usualy wont stop me from buying a game at all. The Ubi system is horrible DRM however, and I wont be getting another of their games on PC until they sort it out. :(

I think they will remove the DRM on ACII in 2012 when the game's been out a couple of years. They said they could easily do it with a patch.
