Steam christmas sale 2010... *twitch*

What was the story with SFIV? I know Capcom usually do top notch ports. Is this any different? Worth owning? That price good value? :p

Not particularly good value when it's been on Steam for less than that earlier this year and no doubt will be again. Depends how badly you want it right now.

Okay I'll bite and join the "Nothing for me" party :p

Machinarium is a great game and worth it at that price. Although you could've got it - with a Steam activation key - and at least 4 other games for $0.01 (if you're a tight arse) in the Humble Bundle a few days ago.

What's Mirror's Edge like?

With the Steam version of KOTOR bear in mind you can't go above 1280x1024 unless you use a no-CD EXE.

I wish Steam would mention stuff like this on the product pages. I bought Civ III a while ago thinking it would make a great netbook game.

Not so, because it's pretty much impossible to make it display anything less than 768 pixels vertically but Steam doesn't mention the fact it has a minimum resolution requirement.

HAWX2 is only £17.95 at retail I bought it a month ago. DX11 Gfx are stunning but gameplay is very arcade & frustrating in places.

Lost Planet2 is the best looking DX11 game out right now. Gfx are stunning & a lot of gameplay for £14.99 its a bargain. Epic 4 player Co-Op + Extensive MP + 18 very challenging SP chapters all in the same Capcom Japan style as Resident Evil5 (same coding team & producer) & its coded perfectly & fully supports wireless gamepads as well as kb+mouse but game style is more suited to gamepads TBH. Lost Planet2 = Monster Hunter 3 on PC. This game is very solid & the console reviews were low because the game is challenging to play by design so they hated it as its not an easy game to beat but easy to pick up & play. PC also has tweaked gameplay which includes more forgiving checkpoints & continues.

To be fair that is true of a lot of things now.

Think I may go for Machinarium and Mirror's Edge at those prices...

SF4 is fantastic. Very well coded. Lots of content & always plenty of players online. Well worth the money mate :D

Heh cool, and thanks... I may wait for a better price though. But it's tempting - haven't owned a beat-em-up since Super Street Fighter II on the SNES back in the day :D

Maybe so but I don't think it was daft to assume a ten year old game would have had support for 800x600, I just find it slightly annoying that it wouldn't have happened had Steam just had the full requirements on the product page, then i'd have noticed and not wasted my money.
