Steam christmas sale 2010... *twitch*

Which servers are people using? I have no bandwith on any euro servers lol. All downloads are "suspended".

Haha having read the entire thread I have found one server on my entire list that has some juice!

After the recommendations on here and a quick view of the Gametrailers review video I just got Mirror's Edge for that price.

Yet another game downloading :o

I just want to add my 2 cents that I hate steam atm... I was done and dusted with PC games.. tried to get back into WOW and did until Cataclysm came out then cbf with it, and had a few other games to try and tickle my fancy but didn't, I was all set to give up on PC games then and do something else (P.S. I know WOW was a bad idea, but I had the spare time during the week..). Then steam had to go and put the likes of Mass effect 1&2, Batman, Witcher, Borderlands and the likes on sale and *Bam*, my interest in PC games is there again...

Btw in case anyone wants to know, played through Mass Effect 1 (bought a few other games including the ones mentioned earlier) and it has to have the best story line of any game I have played. Starting on Mass Effect 2 soon and have high hopes as well after seeing the intro and about 15 mins play of it!!

I am considering buying Victoria ii, but I bought Ho ii in the summer sales and haven't played it yet!

I am a paradox fan - used to play a lot of crusader kings and eu iii, but I think you need to clear the diary to get into one of these games.

UK - Manchester server is working ok over here. Not full speed but its working.

Steam has made me purchase 10 games so far D: and still 6 more days to go, this is not going to end up well...

I'm tempted to get Neverwinter Nights 2 just for the expansions.. I've already got the main game on hard copy but its one of those games that I only ever seem to play once a month and I've not actually completed it yet.

Is it worth £7.50 for the expansions?

I got it to play on my laptop, assuming that it would be able to handle a 7 year old game. :p

That's if I can work out why I'm not getting any audio through these blasted speakers!!

KOTOR lags like a byatch on my laptop, it looks like a powerpoint presentation for me :(

Just playing thru Mass Effect 2 now! its so much better then 1 tbh! im just half way thru gathering my team together and it so good seeing old faces from the first!

the character developement and combat and graphics, animations worlds everything are just perfect! u get sucked into the world so much! ive had servere toothache last 3 days and it hasnt stopped me playing it!

im playing as an adept at the moment as i transfered my char from ME1

absolutely love the class! but till try Infiltrator probably next play thru!

and yes the story is top notch, they should make a film tbh it would be quality! ME3 is gonna ownnnnnnn! :)

I never knew Neverwinter nights had a single player element to it. I haven't played the first either, so as a newcomer to this would it be better to try that first or just leap in and get the second?

RE: ME2
Combat IS much better in the second yes, but unfortunately the story and game overall is not so 'epic'. The combat also gets a bit predictable towards the end.

Hopefully they'll get a better balance of the 'RPG elements' and 'FPS elements' in the third, as bits from both games are better than the other :)

RE: NWN2

As I remember, NWN2 is a definate step up from NWN1 which was massively dissapointing after Baldur's Gate. I'd go straight to the second game; as I remember the ties between the stories of both games were fairly small, so you won't lose that much from not having NWN1.
The first game felt a lot like a toolbox/sandbox setup that someone had stuck a linear and rather boring campaign on top of, whereast at least NWN2 had a reasonable single player campaign. As a random fact NWN is also where the engine used in Witcher came from (although heavily tweaked).
