Inspired by Jonny69 - A year in your parking space, 2010

That was £7k, the abarth was £11k lol. Plus I don't like the stupid black trim round the bottom of the car/arches. And this has 80% of the potential. Few mods and it will be quicker in a straight line and the bends.

Started and finished the year with my Passat, love it or hate it in the 4 years and 50k of ownership it's been a great car (for what i needed) and i will actually be sad to see it go next year;

What are these niggles?

1) Radio barely works. In strong signal areas it will find a few stations, in weak ones it won't auto tune to anything. On the move it just cuts in and out all the time.

2) Very bad vibration behind the dash. Sounds like a big ball bearing in a solid plastic box!

3) Boot light doesn't work and it isn't the fuse or bulb.

4) Quite a bad knocking / banging from the back over bumps.

3 months ago bought this 1.4 16v Turbo Grande Punto. Love it, it's in a different league to my old Punto, loads more grunt, loads more toys, more comfortable etc etc.

Can't afford to run/buy any big boys cars yet, so i'll have to make do with this, I think it's a decent upgrade for a young'n though.

We should really have got the 1.4 T-Jet. The 1.4 16v has enough poke but my gf thinks it will break if she revs it over 4k so doesn't even get to the peak of the engines torque let alone anywhere near the peak power which is at 6500 rpm :o Problem is there were no 5 door ones with the right spec for our budget.

Has it really been that long  I thought I remembered you getting that after I bought my Octavia. Must be my memory playing tricks on me again!

This was in my space at the start and end of 2010.

Will be gone sometime in the first half of next year. Not sure what to replace it with but its unlikely to be another hot hatch. Probably going to go for something a bit more grown up :)
Its had a few additions since the picture was taken, RSTuner Remap, ITG Panel filter and Milltek exhaust. I suspect i'll only realise how much i liked it when its gone...

Wow! Some of your upgrades are brill! Really digging the 182 Clio....dazz25's looks NOM! Sorry to hear about the guy who got his car stolen :-(

Started with a Focus TDCI (no picture)

Ended with a 325SE.

I don't really like it as much as I thought, and I'd be surprised if this is still on the drive at the end of 2011.

I kept the ER-6F throughout all of 2010 (not my picture - just a stock) despite frequently flirting with an R6. I'm moving house in a month, so I suspect the ER-6 will get to stay a little longer yet...

...though it's a bit muckier now. Needed something better at a longer commute, without spending a fortune, which it is in pretty much every way.

Both of these on my driveway and very glad of them too considering the weather recently.
WRX and 4.6 V8 X5 IS.
WRX has undergone a lot of changes since I bought it as a bog standard wrx turbo and have a new IHI bigger turbo waiting to go on when funds permit for the remap.

X5 is standard bar rear tints, goes like hell too 340 odd bhp.

Started the year with....

Passed my driving test at the end of the summer and got myself this:
img0083np.jpg

It's only a baby 2.0 mark 4 GTI but as a first car its good fun, comfortable and returns pretty decent economy for a 10 year old car! I'm expecting to have it for a good year or so before time and my NCB lets me insure something with a bit more poke.
