Hello there.

Well, it's been a few months since I moved to Shanghai for a job and I've been PC-less at home.
Still.... I refuse to buy an off the shelf PC so I did lots of research about where to get components and then put this little thing together (it's about 85% accurate to the brands I got here)

That's 390 English Quids when purchased in the UK.
It only cost me 345 here in Shanghai :)
And once I'm a bit more flush with the cash I can lob an i5 (or i7) in and get a proper gfx card too, heheh !!

I'm still amazed by how cheaply (wherever in the world) you can put a pretty decent system together. I remember spending about 600 quid a few years ago and getting something not even half as good :D

As ever, the more you pay, the less you get for your money :)

Building a PC is all about identifying what you need and choosing components to meet said need for the lowest cost/longest life. Sounds like here you needed a pretty simple work setup, with lots of LEDs :D

Heheh.
Come on !!
Since when was PC building/upgrading about what you need ?
It's about what you WANT :D

Basically, I just wanted to stop having to do all my browsing/emailing/online shennanigans on my HTC Desire :p

Looks ok, but if your not gaming I would utilise the onboard gpu and go for the Corsair ram.

Well I don't "game" much, but I like to know I have a little oomph when it comes down to it. (just gone back to Trackmania for old time's sake and it runs fine)

The GFX card also has HDMI out and that'll come in useful for phase 2 of my plan.... BIG TV :D
