Is anyone else being annoyed the foghorn ? You will probably able to hear it in Chepstow, caldicot, bristol.

It's not even foggy

We have a foghorn here, I find it quite soothing. Oh, and it might still be foggy at sea! Plus, it also sounds in misty drizzle.

Ours is very different to that. More low pitche, fades in and out and is a perfect tone. That just sounds awful! Oh, and searching youtube for south shields oghorn brings up the old one.

I am surprised that they are foghorns, I would have more expected flood sirens along the severn, certainly I remember the damn things when I were much younger and living in king's lynn, the ouse was a pain for it at times..

Seriously... these are annoying

I cant see them being flood warning sirens, we havnt had much rain down here, and they only come on when its foggy or misty

We dont get a lot of Severn floods here even when it does rain, the flooding occurs more up towards Gloucester way not by the Severn bridge where I live.

You're probably right, seems most places phased out siren based flood warnings, because they felt they "scared" people, instead now, if you're about to be flooded in the middle of the night, and have signed up to it, the environment agency will email you. So glad I live about 300 feet above the nearest river..
