Inspired by Jonny69 - A year in your parking space, 2010

Started and finished in the Megane, I hope next year will be the same too!

Going to try and go to this parking space again though:

Started the year with nothing

Got a job, so required a car, which led to this bad boy:

VW Polo 1.4 16v

Having had a job for several months I was then feeling a little more flush and moved up to this:

VW Golf GTI 1.8T

By the end of next year I plan to still have it, though insurance permitting it may not be exactly as it is currently :p

I would like to point out at this stage, I am not a VW fanboy, they just happened to be two cars that came along at just the right time!

Started and ended with this, 1999 Golf 1.8 20vt.. few subtle mods and the wheels on it in the pic are different to the 5 spoke 16" Audi TT wheels it started with earlier this year... but looks wise it's not changed. Loads spent mechanically inc cambelt, waterpump, thermostat, new flywheel, clutch, all the usual servicing bits and a few performance additions such as exhaust, panel filter etc.

Needs some new front suspension bushes, ball joints, track rod ends and top mounts for me to be happy with how it is on the road (front is feeling a little loose with age now, back end is already polybushed) and a few more mods would be wanted (just TIP, downpipe and sports cat, 007p recirc valve - it's already remapped), plus some bodywork... OR I stop wasting money on it, sell it whilst I can get something for it on 141k and buy something small, cheap to run, newer, decent value and fun like a Fiesta ST :)

Those plates are nasty.

Stormster - what's the splitter on the front of yours and where did you get it?

I've been contemplating the anniversary bits but that splitter looks a nice (cheaper) compromise for the front end.

Started with a Ford Fiesta Flame 1.4L '05. Had it about 2 and 1/2 years and felt it was time for change.

So bought a Ford Focus Zetec 1.6L '10. By no means the best car around but I love it. :)

As per MSN but for anyone else interested it's a MK4 Golf 4motion one, the rear valance is different to the standard fit on all FWD MK4's too and has an exhaust cut out :)

Had been several years without a car, so started off the year borrowing mums C3 every now and again when needed. Was like driving a toy car, everything so light and wishy washy.

Moved on to this!

9-3 Aero 2.0 210 Bhp

My 190e (2.6 Manual)
Had this the whole year... only single problem was the heater blower motor failing (but it has done over 170k so its fair crack)

Angle grinded springs in half, fitted £30 alloys, welded the diff, stripped everything except front seats and front carpet, made a stainless exhaust out of bits and bobs. Job done.

Drive is uncomfortable and bouncy, diff skips like a b*tch, but engine still strong and it slides really nicely. Love it!

No pics I'm afraid, but started with a silver '07 Ford Fiesta Zetec Climate 1.25L and have just bought a grey '07 Ford Focus Zetec Climate 1.6 Auto (which is ex-mobility and has Xenons, rear parking sensors etc).
