I know this is a tech forum and there is another friend about Lynx Tip Kittens (Or something like that)

But my Mum is considering the idea of getting a Kitten and I'm just wondering what type is a good one to get :P Like; friendly, doesn't always malt playful etc

Thanks :D

Male cats are more social, friendly and also less likely to stray in my experience. No doubt someone will disagree but it's a fact males are more affectionate. I have two male tabbys and they're great. Just head down to the animal sanctuary and see what's there. ;)

I've been looking on the RSPCA website and there is a lot of kittens on there but my mum wants to get one privately :S

One that finds a new home after it has stopped being a kitten. Cat's are pointless, kittens are fun.

Thanks :)

Well, there are advantages of getting kittens from the animal sanctuary. They'll be checked over for full fitness, you'll be given dates for when certain things need to happen i.e. speying and neutering etc. Basically you have peace of mind.

I'm not saying don't buy privately but one of the reasons I don't is because if I decide the kitten is not right for me then I'll feel like a dick lol! :p

Lol, Do you have to pay to re-home them from an animal sanctuary and what happens if you go to get one from there, what sort of checks do they do etc

I'll probably keep looking to see what's around, My nan knows someone who might have some Kitten's so I might get in touch with her

Well the animal sanctuary I've had three kittens from charge £60 per kitten. It's a little expensive but it's a charity and they desperately needed funding and any help they can get. They're literally overloaded with kittens all the time unfortunately. The RSPCA might be different with their charges though. ;)

They'll ask you all sorts of questions that test the suitability of yourself as an owner. For example, have you had pets before? Have you had cats before? Do you live on a main road?(just state it'll be kept indoors) Do you agree to have it speyed/neutered? Do you mind if we check up on the animal with you in 6 months? (they rarely do).

Fairly easy then, Don't really know any other place apart from the RSPCA but I should think there would be some local to me

Well you can ask friends and family over the next couple of weeks to see if they know of anywhere. Thats how I found out about my local animal sanctuary, just by asking friends. Otherwise, google? :p

I know my cousins mum has a cattery but I don't think she sells or breeds them, Been looking on google can't really find much apart from old adds :/
