Hi
after my old 360 rrod on boxing day i will be getting a slim as soon as i can i just have a few questions that im hoping some of you guys can awnser for me

Can i use my old hdmi cable from my old 360 on a new slim(it goes from back of 360 in 6 av`s.....composite i think tv calls it)

Also i have read it`s possible to use my old 360 hdd on a new slim but also heard it doesnt fit properly and you cant move it about as it loses connection.......i`d like to just know your thoughts on this and if its worth the hassle or just get a 250 gb slim

Thanks in advance

yes you can use your old hdmi cable on the slim, i also feel that it ain't worth the hassle with the old hdd and just get the 250gb.

250 gb slim is 175 quid at the moment

and do you mean about using the component cable tht old 360s came with as stock? yes you can use it, im using my old vga cable to attach to monitor, same connection, you have to buy a hdmi cable seperate if you want to connect with that

Im pretty sure that my cable did indeed come with my old 360
the box has a switch on it to switch to hd and ive always used that

Is that the best quality?

And £175 please can u send me a private link where 250gb slim is that price as i only seen them for around the £190 mark

no its the lowest quality hd you can get, I take it the tv doesnt have hdmi? that would be an improvement, my preference is vga cable though

unfortunately, after just checking a certain high street music and dvd outlet on the bay, the price has gone up to 204.99, but if you check their feedback you can see they were selling 250's for 174.99

yup i saw that price yesterday and sooo nearly bought it , when i went back later (after a few beers) to buy it the price had gone back up , gutted :(

For some reason the OP's post makes me believe he thinks the component cable that came with the 360 is HDMI...

No not hdmi as i know what the connections for hdmi look like..........So im guessing using the component cable and switching the cables box and options in dashboard to hd isnt proper hd then?

If its not then yes i have made a mistake as i thought they were the same:(

100 posts yay me hehe

Componet is HD. It's an analogue signal as opposed to the digital HDMI, but I didn't notice much of a difference going from Component to HDMI.
