Probably another stupid question, but if I buy all the components for my new PC, will they come with all the cables I need?

My list so far:

  • Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
  • Asus P6X58D Premium Intel X58
  • Corsair Vengeance 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Triple Channel
  • Smasung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
  • ATI Radeon 6950 2048MB
  • Antex 300 Ultimate Gaming Case
  • Antex TruePower New Modular 650W
  • Akasa AK-FN059 Ultra Quiet Viper 120mm
  • Samsung SH-223L 22x DVD-RW SATA

What about cable management? Is there anything to consider with regards to length of cables and the layout of slots/components that might require me to buy new cables?

As a general question, are there any essentials that I have missed out on my shopping list above that would prevent the whole thing from coming together? Obviously I have a monitor and peripherals.

Thanks.

Well, usually the length of cables and the layout of slots/components are of standard size, however, if you require more length or any other kind of slots/components, then you can pay and get it... As per list you have provided, I don't think there is something remained to consider....

As above, youll have everything you need
However just to make you aware, the Antec 300 doesnt have the best cable management options, and imo its not worth its current £60 price tag, it was a good case in its day and is still a good modders case due to its simplicity but theres much better cases nowadays at the same price point with many more features including better cable management, have a look at the Coolermaster Storm Scout, or the Cubitek Tatto mid tower
If you want to see what Im talking about just click on the picture of each case, start with the 300, then the others, youll get more pictures to look at, if you go through to the last/2nd to last ones which show the inside, youll see the 300 lacks any holes for routing the cables where as these others, the Storm in particular, have holes which make cable mangaement much easier

Thanks mate, I will have a look at those. I was really just going on reviews with the Antec 300.

Yeah itll have really good review but theyll all be quite old, when it came out it was great case for its time and priced better, as I say nowadays it lacks features compared to a lot of the more modern cases and its price keeps creeping up for some reason
