I'll just say, i hate servers running the same damn map over and over and over.... Rotate!

I tend to avoid them anyway, but still :D

My mates clan has a server running heavy metal 24/7
strangely its full almost all the time

Dont really understand why someone would play a server like that
suppose the noobs like the new map or something

Im having abit of an issue with bc2 atm , basically as i play the screen with adjust from full screen to half screen just showing my windows taskbar at the bottom then when i press a mouse button it switches back to full screen

has any one had this or heard of this ?

Maybe... I had a problem where caps lock was minimizing the game (well scroll and num lock too I think). BTConfig.exe was the cause of it for me, I just disabled it from startup.

Hope this helps.

accuracy is the down side.

Barely, if you don't hit them properly with the 40mm Shotgun you won't do enough to kill em, its only advantage there is that you still do some damage unlike a missed close range GL though you'd be lucky to survive long enough to shoot them either way.

Doesn't make up for its list of disadvantages compared to it. Shotgun is effected by body armour i think. Beyond close range its damage is minimal. You can't blow up walls or hit people behind cover. Theres just no point in it really compared to the instant 1 shot kill 40mms.

Slugs do have bullet drop, it's just not easy to see because all you have is a tiny iron sight zoom. All guns except the tracer gun have some bullet drop, some do seem to have less than others but it's mostly the mounted weapons.

Also I have 535 smoke kills so ner.

I've always been under the impression only sniper rifles and vehicle/mounted guns had bullet drop since it never seemed to make the slightest difference when aiming long range.

I believe all guns have slight bullet drop, I have definitely noticed it using the m14 on heavy metal.

I think the sniper bullet drop is just exaggerated to add difficulty to a play style that in most other games is like using the rail gun in quake.

Sounds about right to me.

I miss my rail gun :(

I guess Heavy Metal is bigger than most maps... though i did get rail gunned by the M14 a couple of weeks ago across the map on Harvest Day which was utter bs, no way could he of made out a target from a range that looked tiny through 12x scope.

Guess i'm going to have to get the smoker out again to catch up, only 316 for me. :(

I thought Heavy Metal was quite a small map. Is the SQDM version smaller or something? It doesn't seem that big to me anyway, maybe it's just me.

You do realise the SQDM maps are not a very good indicator of the actual map size right? :p Heavy Metal and Harvest Day are huge maps, especially in Conquest.

I'm usually swinging from one spec to another with different weapons depending on my mood or what needs to be done. This time i just stuck with being medic and reviving, helping as many as i could even downed a few heli's with my tank at great range. Impressed a few people, annoyed a few others :p

But my score is usually in the low 1000's however i got way up near 10k and top of the scoreboard. Which is incredibly rare for me :o

We generally just join a random one with low ping, the map we want and enough space for us all to join, don't have a regular haunt

Do you know anyone who has it on steam?

If you get the steam version you could just copy it fro mthier pc/they can put it on disk for you

but no Vietnam is included in the patch.

If you want to play mp there's a lot top dl that';s not on the disk.

You may be able to avoid the update if you install and run the game with your internet connection disabled.

Personally I would still buy it on steam and see if you can get a friend to give you the steam files via usb/external hard drive. The single player isn't that great anyhow, and running the game via steam is much much easier than using ea/retail.

I am fairly sure that you would not be able to play online unless you have the latest patch.

Thanks guys for the input. My brother's got it so coyping the files across would be doable if it is indeed that simple. Retail is only £13 (and £20 in Steam) though. Anyway will get it one way or the other.
