The Exiled Prince

The interesting thing about this DLC pack is that it comes free with the "Signature Edition" of Dragon Age II, which can be had by preordering the game before 11th January. Any orders placed after that date will just get the standard edition of the game, meaning they don't get this content.

wow dragon age II is so amazing they are already milking it with a new dlc :p, but anyway this will most likely come out for pc too!. So enjoy my little DAII DLC thread

It is pretty bizarre that they're already touting the DLC for a game that's not even out. I suppose we're just lucky that it's not exclusive to people that buy it from Game or something. Those deals need to die.

This is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

On the one hand you can say the developers/publishers are being greedy, on the other hand you could say it's Mr.Console's fault for letting them get away with it in the first place.

Wasn't terribly impresses with the DLC offereings last time from Bioware so I won't be rushing out to get this. I'll probably just wait and get the GOTY version this time around.

They shot themselves in the foot for me when they released Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, think I'll save a bundle for the same on DA2, no rush to play, so many games :o

Some of the DLC for the first Dragon Age was amazing. Awakening for example. Easily one of the greatest expansions since the awesome GTA IV episodes. Bioware's Shadow Broker stuff for ME2 was also pretty great. DLC can be great, it's just unfortunate that some publishers choose to overcharge for very slim portions of content.

Yup same here. This time next year there will be a DA 2 UE. I'm in no hurry as I've not finished the first one yet.

I really dislike the tendency towards DLC but at least this is one DLC pack you have the option of getting for nothing. Signature Edition can be had for 25 quid from Game which isn't too bad a price, and I can't see too many other vendors offering it for less than that.

If you were going to buy it on release you may as well pre-order now as the money won't be taken before release in any event.

It's free dlc, people. I wouldn't ready your pitchforks and torches just yet.

This is a better deal than the day one dlc for DA, not that it was a bad deal then.

The Stone Prisoner was the only launch DLC worth caring for, and it was free, Warden's Keep that went to the CE edition was completely disposable(even considering the party chest). The preorder and other promotional DLC was just tat.

So no faffing about with overpriced CE editions, just preorder it if you want it at launch, or don't and get the Bazinga! version in a year.

We usually get rooted on the Collector Editions in the UK anyway, so I'm glad I wont have to shake my fist about that this year.

I thought Awakening was very below the standard set by Origins tbh :/

If that's you, and you buy Dragon Age II at a later date, you'll have to pay out 560 Microsoft Points - 7 of your real US Dollars in order to see the story of the Exiled Prince and bring him into your party.

If you are desperate to get a hold of it, it's free. If you aren't, wait for the GOTY/Whatever bundled version like a few have said they will. Then laugh at people that bought post launch dlc and expansions when you get it all for less than the standalone game was at launch.

I'm not seeing a problem here, in all honesty.

**** off. Seriously, **** off.

Content already finished on release of the game, yet classed DLC.

Yeah no, I can't afford to pre-order DA:2 so I have to pay even more to play content that should be part of the game, I bet there will be some sort of news post about piracy at some point.

SERVERS YOU RIGHT, YOU GREEDY TOSSERS.

It's free, with a pre-order. Yet you say they're greedy? It's hardly the publishers fault you can't preorder now is it?

As an aside, it's also up to them what exactly is supposed to be part of the game.

It is greedy. You're a bit dumb if you can't see that and the reasoning behind such claims.

I'm pretty sure this offer has been available since November so it isn't as if they haven't given people plenty of notice.

DLC was supposed to be unfinished content which wasn't included in the game to be released at a future date, the fact of the matter is, if you get this on day 1 it means it's fully functional and thus should have been given away to everyone for free as part of buying the game.

It's pure greed, EA are getting worse and worse and because console children accept DLC they think it's fine to push this on to everyone and make us fork out even more for content which we should have bought anyway with the box.
