has there been an update? just played hastings and i heard the 'smoke nade' sound, looked up and sure as heck there was smoke? i kid you not, either someone is cheating or we have smoke but i could not see it under any classes?

Hey I'm the admin of this server. Always looking for new friendly players to play with. So please come along.

We also have a team speak channel, with the regulars in once we are playing. TS IP is 84.201.2.5:13596.

We have hardcore mode off, kill cam off and friendly fire off. Everything else is on.

We also have a 2 sniper limit per map, just to ensure more attacking is done than camping on the whole.

Server tends to get busy around mid day to late evening.

We rotate between Rush and Conquest. Also its possible for us to run Vietnam as well, which we will be doing from time to time.

A 2 Sniper limit? Good luck getting anyone to play that then. Unless your server is running 8v8 anything below 25% recon is just used by admins who don't understand the concept of 'not standing still in plain sight'. Not to mention several people here play Recon as offensive not sniper and all these limits do is let the useless snipers sit back and fail to do anything while the good recons/snipers can't get a chance.

Agreed. I play recon and I'm constantly pushing into bases/etc.
 
Anyone at christmas notice how it was rife with hackers, and they all seemed to be russian.

All died off now, but i was constantly getting handed and yet im a damned good player, on harvest day i was being sniped just 30ft out of the compound.

It was getting a bit ridiculous.

same.

sniper limit just makes sure you have "total limit's" worth of snipers all campign cause only campers get the kit and all your assaults must now rush into defending sensor balls with no sensor cover of their own.

Also no c4 for tanks/m com cover.


oh yeah and that server only shows up if you have the hardcore tag on because it's marked as hardcore/modded not normal for some reason.

Nope, over Christmas my kdr took a nice big spike killing the sale newbies :D

A lot of campers got their asses handed to them by the newbies though because they where having fun and rushing in like psychotic madmen guns blazing.

Was great seeing < 10 rank people rushing in and slaughtering lines of camping rank 30 +'s :D



Newbies make these games great fun as they're still full of the excitement of the new game :D

it's in the latest patch, if you have bc2 fully patched up (so can play online) you've already got Vietnam downloaded.

but no no hardcopy.
 
You need a valid key to unlock it in game.

Just been playing Operation Hastings more this morning, what a map! It has some absolutely fantastic areas! The fights around the hills near D can be epic! The M40 is a great weapon, even to use it in attack.

all the bolt action snipers (aside from the m95) are epic attacking/rushing guns.

try and get used to using the normal scope + no scoping, then you can have lightweight and close the distance faster.

with the m24 about 15ft from the target is a 1 hit kill.
 
Think i'll be a sniper now, been a medic for bloody ages. Though i'm a great team medic and worthy of being in any team

No scoping gets me killed so often since it never goes where you want it to anywhere beyond absolute point blank ><

But its a 1 shot kill from slightly further with a slug shotgun ;)
 
boring as it sounds, i have been playing a operation hastings rush map only server since it came out, been getting an average of 7k/d sniping, managed 30k to 2d earlier today. great map for a sniper
