Are we really looking at pictures of a 'smoothed in' 13 year old Corsa and asking why people might think it's chav?

Because given what 19 year olds have done to their Corsas in the past, the OP's one is actually quite tasteful.

I think people don't like it because it is a Corsa and is modfied, not because it is a Corsa that has been modified badly.

Peoples definition of what a Chav is, is way off. Someone who spends money on their car doing it up how they like it, isn't really my definition of Chav.

If your car is chavved, then its probably covered in fibreglass, different colour body panels and white bodykits and still have standard wheels tucked away inside the wide arch kit. Probably coupled with Argos seat covers and ripspeed 6x9s in the parcel shelf. But having ALL those things are for the luxury Chav who has a middle class upbringing.

Just seems a bit silly, mocking OPs car when you drive some dreary runabout, where you see the splitting image of your car every 5 minutes driving along the road. Or silly also if you drive a 'nice' car, as not everyone can afford what you have, or might not even want to.

Also thinking people are modifying a certain way just to fit in is a bit stupid. Might surprise you that people actually modify their cars based on their own tastes!

Haha. Well I do enjoy modified cars, and kinda sick of the "everyone with a modified car is a chav" mentality that some people have.

As for the OP, he's b& for some reason anyway now.. lol

It's not crap at all Janesey, I'd pick that over your Fiesta ANY DAY of the week.

I'd drive neither given the choice but I'd be ever so slightly more embarrassed turning up to a job interview in that Corsa, I still think it's crap.

I was also sort of defending the car in a backwards way :p

Im telling you being old has only got 1 benefit, cheap insurance, make the most of it.

The OP himself calls it a chav mobile!

Doesn't mean anything other than the fact that he doesn't take his car too 'seriously', which I think it is a refreshing attitude.

He knows people are going to call it Chavvy/crap/rubbish anyway, might as well shrug it off and make a bit of fun out of it rather than blowing a gasket and going into full on defence mode.

Better than 200 pages of rubbish and a thread in GD about what a bunch of ******* motors are.

In my mind it is a similar sort of thing. Most of the time people are going to be ignorant no matter what you say to try and defend yourself/car/chosen sub-forum. Better to shrug it off then give these people a bit of a scene.

What's your stance on this? Seeing as you said in the ST170 replica thread that you couldn't see the reason why someone would bother and just spend the extra money on the better model/car?
