DC Universe Online - What's happening with it?

Took me almost 6hrs to get the the new 3gb patch, they have sorted out some stuff but my lvl 13 character had to redo all his points and it seemed i was missing some, also somewhat annoyed that configuring ur abilities is such a pain, seems you can only have 6 abilities or maybe im missing something?

Yeah you can only have six powers on at once but you have two different stances of fighting. My current character who is L13 has either damage or control.

And the powers do different things in different stance roles. Makes the characters a little more unique this way I think.

Although the patch did take a while to come through it has improved the game heavily. You can now use blue tooth mics which didnt work before.

Still a few bugs with getting locked out of rooms when you are doing the inside battles but enjoying the game more after the latest patch.

Will be interesting where they take the game content as to whether it justifies the mionthly sub but it's certainly improving with every patch.

Cannot do a lifetime sub for this game as the PS3 Wallet doesnt allow that much money to be added in one go, so i heard on the official playstaion forums for DC Universe.:)
 
I enjoyed it too, but even if it was the best game in the world Im still not prepared to pay a monthly subscription...

I am happy to buy one game a month (golden rule), so I plan to buy the game which includes the first month and then if I am still playing it at the end of the month I will buy the 6 month sub instead of a game in Febuary.

Rather not have to pay subs but it seems that it's the norm with MMO's, and hopefully by paying the game will be stable and updated on a frequent basis.

what about killzone 3 28th of feb its the last day so you can get that for march ;)
Hopefully sony will figure out a way of getting a life time payment sorted for the ps3 like the pc .
I did play the beta loads got my player to level 18 and the 3gb patch improved the voice comms and menus lets just hope more improvements are in the full game . Hopefully soon i will be able to get of this **** 3g dongle :(
 
Like someone said earlier it's not that PS3 arent going to get a lifetime membership, it is just that the current PSN store isn't set up to take that amount of money in one hit.

Would love this game to make the distance but I can see it getting quite boring after you have leveled your first few characters.

It needs something more. A bit like the skills in WOW. Maybe they could do things like armour specialiations, gadets, weapons like batman.

Or robotics like ironman (Despite not being DC :p)

Or alien artifacts or something like green lantern.

Needs something more otherwise it is just going to be an expensive beat-em-up.

The game didn't require any level of skill or tactics to get to L20.

I hope it does well and will certainly be trialing it but I think it will only last two/three months.

With Killzone 3, socom 2 coming up fast we are spoit for choice.
 
Just been looking at this as a mate keeps on going on about it

so this will be free (no subscription) for ps3 users?
 
no point buying a lifetime membership to an mmorpg when it could potentially go down the pan quickly like APB, played beta this is utter garbage compared to the mmo's available on the pc, look at eve for example

No you pay for it. £9.99 per month roughly. Price not confirmed.

It's down to personal preference. Personally I think Eve is the most boring MMO i have ever played. Wouldn't even play if it were free.
