6950 temps

Can't seem to find many people posting idle temps but I was getting like 50 but now it seems to be idling around the 61-62 degrees mark with 30% fan speed auto WITH the case open. Load temps seem to top out at 86 in Heaven and about 78 in games but the idle seems quite high to me specially as it was idling around 50 before.
Ambient is 23.4 degrees.

you checked if the card is in 2d clocks when idle?
if it's stuck in 3d it could hit high 50s idle.

full specs too please.

Yes it is going down to 450 clock speed. Rest of system is
AMD [email protected] With Noctua D14
4GB OCZ BE 1600mhz ram
MSI GD70 790fx
HX850W PSU
CM 690II Advanced with a lot of fans
And running two screens, 1920*1080 and 1920*1200

Edit: Seems to have dropped a bit now but still getting 55-57 at 450 core clock and 28ish fan speed. I have seen others that get like mid 40s idle.

My AMD HIS 6950 with unlocked cores and 840 core speed idles at 40c-42c.

Top temperature in Furmark is 80c-81c after half and hour - in games it doesn't get any hotter than 70-72c.

This is with the fan set to auto.

Mind you, my idle speed is 250 core clock.

This is it with the edge of case off in Afterburner.
Needs like 50% fan speed for it to stay around 41-42c. Ambient is still 23c.

You haven't got a 2nd display connected?

Those idle temps do seem a bit high otherwise but really do not worry about temps so much unless you are hitting 100c or more load everyday.

Anyway load temps are most important where yours seem fine.

Yes I have got it attached. I weren't too worried about the temps, just wasn't sure as other people seem to get low to mid 40s idle. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

2nd display will cause higher idle temps, it's the same with Nvidia cards too.
