I'm looking for cheap flights to Poland krakow, leaving on 4th March 2011, returning on 6th March 2011

Looking to go from whereever is cheapest but preference would be Manchester, Liverpool, East mids rather than Gatwick or Heathrow

Party of 12 people

ryanair, going from liverpool, cheapest flights to anywhere in poland are always ryanair or wizzair, wizzair dont fly to krakow so your stuck with ryan air, probably about 50-60 quid per person if you book around now, im flying a few times a year to poland, although wroclaw and katowice, never to krakow

Try wizzair, a budget airline.

Mum flew from eindhoven to warsaw for 15€ + something like 15€ for taxes etc, then back for 25+ something, anyhow it was 78€ for both ways iirc... Think they fly from gatwick.

EDIT just checked:

To Katowice from Liverpool from GBP 18.99...

EDIT 2,

5th march for 27 quid pp, or the 1st of march, 35 quid pp.

See http://wizzair.com/flights/Liverpool/Katowice/?language=EN

Would have helped if you've booked sooner, you'd easily get 20 tops per person (1 way) & similar the way back.

Katowice is about 35 miles from krakow...

yeah but then they have to get the train to krakow on top, and 12 english guys getting on a polish train, could end up anywhere

It's 20-30 minutes travel, Wizzair don't fly to Krakow.

Think Easyjet and Ryanair do though, have no experience with them though for Poland.

i know, ive been to krakow by train, thats why i mentioned the direct route to krakow from liverpool, getting trains in poland is ok when you speak polish, but not so easy for others, and the savings after a ticket would be minimal and not worth the effort i think

Ryanair don't seem to do the dates you want to, neither do wizzair, but are also very cheap if you are flexible ( eg. go one day earlier & return 1 day sooner), they do fly to krakow though from liverpool!

Can't seem to get the easyjet website to work for me as it should.

Aside from Easyjet, Ryanair and Wizzair, no budget airlines pop to mind for me.

EDIT 2, easyjet website seems to work, party, the way there is 86 quid , no idea on the return.

Would have saved a lot if you've booked sooner and adjusted the days you went there for the cheapest day on the airlines.

EDIT 3, I seem to fail with looking, Ryanair do liverpool-krakow on the 4th, and the return on the 6th, for 12 people, for a total of 1.269,48 GBP.
This excludes luggage though and admin... But includes taxes.

Why are you going to Poland.

Dont know really. Mate works with a Polish girl who said its nice. Ive been to Prague before and that was good. Just fancied a short break to somewhere like Poland, Estonia or somewhere

If anyone has any other idea places, please let me know in here. We dont have to go to Poland, that was just an idea (and 12 people instantly said "im in" ) Its not a stag do but I imagine a lot of drinking will be done.

A short break in another country is about as expensive as a weekend in england for me and mates. ~£180

Krakow is ace. We flew with Ryanair from LBA for £35 return. The earlier you book, the cheaper it is.

Could you not do Thurs to Sat for £62.98 return?

Anyway, anywhere in the old eastern block is great.

Riga, Latvia
Budapest, Hungary
Tallin, Estonia
llubjana, Slovenia

You can't really go wrong, they all have their pluses and minuses and all different.

Krakow is fantastic with all their underground bars and if you go, don;t be afraid to look down side streets with music and what looks like an awful bar may in fact end up been a fanstastic underground cavern with belly dancers!

If you make it to Krakow then look at staying in apartments rather than hotels. We had one of these 7 bedroom ones, 70m from the main square and over 4 bars and a nightclub for £10 each for two nights! Much cheaper than a hotel and much nearer town.

We had apartment no 3 which would be £106 for two nights between all 7 of you so £15 each. And you could book several apartments together for a group of 20. I couldn't recommend the place enough.

And your right about the money. We only spent £120 when there for two nights and that included £20 each for the concentration camp visit.

£35 return from LBA would be great but its a lot more than that. Strangley that weekend in March we a re looking at is the cheapest (maybe because before is half term and after it gets closer to easter?)

Yep, was going to do appartments. A couple of mates have been before and stayed in some where it cost them £10 each a night. I have done a similar thing in prague but for £20 a night. I was pimp though with a monster jacuzzi!

ps - for me its all about none tourist areas. Id rather go down a dodgy sidestreet and find a great small local bar, than a rip off bar filled with english nobheads on a stag do

finally, its done!

11 people booked going from luton on friday 4th march at 8.15am arriving in Katowice 11.30. A bus then takes us to Krakow so arrive in Krakow at 2pm

Coming back on monday at 10:40 from Katowice (leaving Krakow at 6.30)

Had a bit of a fudge up as 2 people have airport checkin instead of web checkin. oops

Came to £69.43 each. flying with Wizzair. At least we will have sunday for a hangover day now and get half a day on friday... should be a good laugh :)
