Visa granted!!!

it is when you tell them to make it valid from x date, like they say to on the application form! Either way we're just happy to get the visa.

Are you quite sure?
I know you give them the dates of travel into and out of the Uk on the form, but this is not the same as telling them when you want it to start. I thought all UK visas were valid from the time of issuing, rather than delayed to a start date.
We had the same when we applied, our 6 months visa was really 5 as she wasn't travelling until a month after it was issued.

100% sure its on the embassy website woukd link to it but im on my phone. Can be pre dated upto 6 weeks i think.... Not100% on that bit though. Either way im just happy to get the visa as said before

Congratulations! All the best to you and your fiancee. :)

It sounds like a rough ride indeed, one which I may be going through very soon. I'll probably torture you with a million and one questions if you don't mind!

Visa's/International relationships... nightmare. So much money on getting my American wife and (British) myself all the correct documentation. She now has Indefinate Leave to Remain in the UK, but I still need to get something like a work visa for the US :( Not sure how the sponsor thing works, given that we have family who would put us up for free over there? (I already have 7 years left on my American Visa).

Well done on the first stage btw :)

I'll defin hold you to that one in 4 or 5 months time! Thanks

Great news, my American wife recently got her indefinite leave to remain visa - was a long and expensive process but it's all turned out nicely :)
If you ever need any info feel free to ask.

Ok any advice from you guys above would be great, more advice the better, I'm under the impression the criteria is basically the same as the finacee visa ,so I shouldn just repeat what I did last time right?

My circumstances wouldn't have changed accept been married :o

Any help would a massive help

Thanks again

She's in the uk on a fiancée visa. Applying a for a 2year extension soonish so if those guys who have been through it ,could give me some advice would be good

Understand that, do you need anything other than to pass passport control then, or do you need something more 'official' which states your intentions?

The person will need to get an entry clearance from abroad before they come to the UK. They will need to submit all the evidence when applying for it and if the home office is satisfied that the person is geniune then the entry clearance will be issued.

When the person arrives at the UK they will have their entry clearance in their passport which will be presented to passport control. All they will do at passport control is ensure that you are entering the UK in line with the entry clearance in the passport and thats it.

hi divaboy, i'll be going through the process of a fiancee visa soon. do you mind if we can have a chat about it? not sure why cant send PM's on this forum! (unless i'm missing a button somewhere)

What's your exact question? You only mentioned about a 2 year extension. What about the application do you need advice on?
